Revelation 6

6
First Seal: The White Horse and the Conqueror
1 Now I watched when the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures speaking with a voice like thunder, “Come!” 2 And I looked,* and behold, a white horse! And the one who sat on it had a bow, and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.
Second Seal: The Fiery Red Horse and the Destroyer
3 And when He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come!” 4 And another horse emerged, fiery red; and it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that they would slay one another; and to him a great sword was given.
Third Seal: The Black Horse and Famine on Earth
5 And when He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, “Come!” And I looked, and behold, a black horse, and the one who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. 6 And I heard what appeared to be a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “Two pounds of wheat for a denarius, and six pounds of barley for a denarius, and do not harm the olive oil and the wine!”
Fourth Seal: The Pale Green Horse and Death and Hades
7 And when He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come!” 8 And I looked,* and behold, a pale green horse! And the one who sat on it—his name was Death, and Hades was following after him. And authority was granted to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, and with famine, and with death, and by the wild beasts of the earth.
Fifth Seal: The Loud Cries of the Martyrs
9 And when He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony which they had upheld; 10 and they cried out with a great voice, saying, “How long,* holy and true Lord, will You not judge and avenge our blood on those who live on the earth?” 11 Then to each of them was given a white robe, and it was said to them that they were to rest a little while longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers who were going to be killed as they had been would be completed.
Sixth Seal: Cosmic Catastrophes
12 And I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and a great earthquake occurred, and the sun turned black like sackcloth made of hair,* and the whole moon became like blood, 13 and the stars of heaven* fell to the earth like a fig tree drops its unripe figs when stirred by a great wind. 14 Then the sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.* 15 And the kings of the earth, and the great ones, and the military commanders, and the rich, and the powerful, and every slave and free individual hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains; 16 and they said to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the One who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, 17 because the great day of Their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”
