Hebrews 13
13
Concluding Remarks
1 Let the brotherly love continue. 2 Do not forget* hospitality, for through this, some have hosted angels unawares. 3 Remember the prisoners, as though bound with them; those who are maltreated, as being yourselves also in the body.
4 Let marriage be honourable among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled,* for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. 5 Let your way of life be free from the love of money, being content with what you have,* for He Himself has said, “I will never leave you, nor will I ever forsake you.”*
6 So we say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not be afraid.
What will man do to me?”*
7 Remember those who led you, who spoke to you the word of God; and considering the outcome of their* manner of life, imitate their* faith. 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today and forever.*
9 Do not be carried away by diverse and strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be established by grace, not by foods, which* have not benefited those who have been occupied with them.*
10 We have an altar from which those who serve in the tabernacle* have no right to eat. 11 For the bodies of those animals, whose blood is brought into the holy places* by the high priest as a sin offering* are burned outside the camp.
12 Therefore, Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through His own blood. 13 Accordingly, let us go out to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach. 14 For we do not have here a continuing city, but we are seeking the one which is to come. 15 Through Him, therefore, let us offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge* His name. 16 And do not neglect* doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
17 Obey those who lead you and be submissive to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls as those who are going to give an account, so that they may do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be* unprofitable* for you.
Request for Prayer
18 Pray for us, for we are confident that we have a good conscience, in everything desiring to conduct ourselves honourably. 19 And I encourage you all the more to do this, so that I may be restored to you more quickly.
Prayer and Doxology
20 Now may the God of peace, the One who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep, our Lord Jesus, through the blood of the eternal covenant, 21 equip you with* every good thing to do His will, working in us* that which is acceptable in His presence, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever.* Amen.
Final Greetings
22 Now I encourage you, brothers, put up with the word of exhortation, for indeed I have written to you briefly. 23 You know our brother Timothy has been released, with whom, if he comes soon,* I will see you. 24 Greet all those who lead you and all the saints. Those from Italy greet you. 25 Grace be with all of you.
