PSALM XXVIII.
The Lord maun haud David on live; the Lord sal ding owre ill-doers; bot ay gar his Chrystit thrive.
Ane o’ David’s.
1Till yerlane, O Lord, I maun cry; my rock, be-na whush till me:#Ps 83:1 for till me gin ye whush, like the lave I maun be, wha gang down the gate o’ the sheugh.#Ps 143:7
2Hearken ye till my maen, whan I sigh till yerlane; whan I rax up my han’s till yer ain halie hame.#Ps 5:7; 138:2
3Harl me nane wi’ the ill, nor wi’ warkers o’ wrang till gae; #Ps 26:9 wha crack till their niebors fu’ lown, bot mischieff i’ their hearts hae they. #Ps 12:2; 55:21; 62:4; Jer 9:8
4Gie till them as their warks hae been, an’ for a’ they hae wrought o’ ill:#2 Tim 4:14; Rev 18:6#28:4 Heb. ill o’ their doens. fornenst the wark o’ their han’s, gie them hame; gie them hame their fill!#28:4 Heb. gie them double.
5On the warks o’ the Lord, an’ the deed o’ his han’s, sen they nae thought can wair;#Job 34:27 themsels he sal ding till nought, an’ them he sal big nevir mair.
6 Bot blythe be the Lord, for he heard the sugh o’ my sighan sair.
7The Lord is my strenth an’ my schild; my heart lippens a’ till himlane: syne brawly I fen, an’ my heart’s unco fain; an’, wi’ my sang I sal laud himlane.
8The Lord is their strenth an’ their stoop; he ’s the health#28:8 Heb. a’ kin’ o’ heal-makin. Some tak stoop wi’ health, an’ mak it stoop o’ healths, & c. o’ his Chrystit forby.
9Saif yer folk, an’ blythe-bid yer ain; an’ feed#28:9 Heb. feed them. an’ up-head them, for ay.
