PSALM FIFTY
A Psalm of Asaph.
1The mighty God, God, the Lord, has spoken and called the earth from the rising of the sun to its going down. #Isa. 9:6
2Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shined forth. #Psa. 80:1
3Our God shall come, and He shall not keep silent; a fire shall devour before Him, and it shall be very tempestuous all around Him. #Psa. 97:3; Dan. 7:10
4He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, so that He may judge His people: #Deut. 4:26
5“Gather My saints unto Me, those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.” #Ex. 24:7; Deut. 33:3
6And the heavens shall declare His righteousness, for God Himself is judge. Selah. #Psa. 75:7
7“Hear, My people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will testify against you; I am God, even your God. #Ex. 20:2
8I will not reprove you for your sacrifices, or your burnt offerings which are continually before Me. #Jer. 7:22; Hos. 6:6
9I will take no bull out of your house, nor he-goats out of your folds, #Acts 17:25
10For every beast of the forest is Mine and the livestock upon a thousand hills.
11I know all the birds of the mountains; and the wild beasts of the field are Mine.
12If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world is Mine, and all the fullness of it. #Job 41:11
13Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?
14Offer to God thanksgiving; and pay your vows to the Most High; #Deut. 23:21; Heb. 13:15
15And call upon Me in the day of trouble; and I will deliver you, and you shall honor Me.” #Psa. 22:23; Job 22:27
16But to the wicked God says, “What right have you to declare My statutes, and to take up My covenant in your mouth? #Isa. 5:21-26; Psa. 50:16-17
17Yea, you hate to be taught, and you cast My words behind you. #Neh. 9:26; Rom. 2:21
18When you saw a thief, then you were pleased to be with him, and you have taken part with adulterers. #Rom. 1:32; 1 Tim. 5:22
19You give your mouth to evil, and your tongue frames deceit. #Psa. 52:2
20You sit; you speak against your brother; you slander your own mother’s son.
21These things you have done, and I have kept silence; you thought that I was like yourself, but I will rebuke you, and set them in order before your eyes. #Psa. 10:11, 90:8; Eccl. 8:11
22Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver. #Isa. 51:13; Psa. 9:17; Job 8:13
23Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; and he who sets his conduct aright, I will show him the salvation of God.” #Psa. 27:6; Gal. 6:16
