Dauid sang þisne seofon and twentigoþan sealm; on þæm sealme he wæs cleopiende to Drihtne, wilnode þæt he hine arette and gefriðode wiþ eallum earfoðum, ægðer ge modes ge lichaman, and wið ealle his fynd gescylde, ge wið gesewene ge wið ungesewene; and eac Ezehias on þam ylcan sealme hine gebæd þæt hine God alysde, ægðer ge æt his mettrumnesse ge æt his feondum (swa he þa dyde); and þæs ylcan wilnað ælc þe hine singð, oþþe for hine sylfne oððe for oþerne; and swa ylce dyde Crist, þa þa he þysne sealm sang.
1To þe ic hopige, Drihten, min God;
ne swuga, ac dem and miltsa me.
Gif þu swa ne dest,
þonne beo ic gelicost þam þe afylð on pytt.
2Ac gehyr þa stemne mines gebedes,
for þam ic nu to þe clypige
and mine handa upphebbe
to þinum þam halgan temple.
3Ne syle me, ne ne send mid þam synfullan,
and mid þam unrihtwyrcendum ne forleos me,
ne me ne fordo mid þam þe luflice sprecað to heora nyhstum
and habbað, þeah, facn on heora heortan.
4Ic wat þæt þu sylst him edlean be heora gewyrhtum,
and æfter þam unrihte þe hi an swincað,
þu heom gyldest.
Ðu heom sylst edlean,
5for þam hy ne ongitað þin weorc ne þa ne geseoð.
Þu hi towyrpst and hi eft ne getimbrast.
6Gebletsod sy Drihten,
for þam þe he gehyrde þa stemne mines gebedes.
7Drihten is min fultumend and min gescyldend;
on hine gehyht min heorte,
and he me gefultumað.
8Drihten is strengo his folces
and gescyldend þære hælo his gesmyredan.
9Gehæl, Drihten, þin folc,
and gebletsa þin yrfeland,
and gerece þa þe þæron eardiað,
and hi uppahefe on ecnesse.
