Jeremiah 35

CHAPTER 35
1The word that was made of the Lord to Jeremy, in the days of Jehoiakim, son of Josiah, king of Judah, and said,
2Go thou to the house of Rechabites, and speak thou to them; and thou shalt bring them into the house of the Lord, into one chamber of [the] treasuries [or treasures], and thou shalt give to them to drink wine.
3And I took Jaazaniah, the son of Jeremy, son of Habaziniah, and his brethren, and all the sons of him, and all the house of Rechabites.
4And I led them into the house of the Lord, to the treasury of the sons of Hanan, son of Igdaliah, the man of God; which treasury was beside the treasury of [the] princes, above the treasury of Maaseiah, son of Shallum, that was keeper of the vestiary.
5And I setted before the sons of the house of Rechabites pecks, and great cups full of wine; and I said to them, Drink ye wine.
6And they answered, We shall not drink wine; for why Jonadab, our father, the son of Rechab, commanded to us, and said, Ye shall not drink wine, ye and your sons, till into without end;
7and ye shall not build an house, and ye shall not sow seed, and ye shall not plant vines, neither shall have, but ye shall dwell in tabernacles in all your days, that ye live many days on the face of [the] earth, in which ye go in pilgrimage.
8Therefore we obeyed to the voice of Jonadab, our father, the son of Rechab, in all things which he commanded to us; so that we drank not wine in all our days, we, and our women, our sons, and daughters;
9and we builded not houses to dwell, and we had not a vinery [or vineyards], and a field, and seed;
10but we dwelled in tabernacles, and were obeying, and did by all things, which Jonadab, our father, commanded to us.
11But when Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, had ascended [or gone up] to this land, we said, Come ye, and enter we into Jerusalem, from the face of the host of Chaldees, and from the face of the host of Syria; and we dwelled in Jerusalem.
12And the word of the Lord was made to Jeremy, and said,
13The Lord of hosts, God of Israel, saith these things, Go thou, and say to the men of Judah, and to the dwellers of Jerusalem, Whether ye shall not take teaching, that ye obey to my words, saith the Lord?
14The words of Jonadab, son of Rechab, had the mastery, which he commanded to his sons, that they should not drink wine; and they drink not, unto this day; for they obeyed to the commandment of their father; but I spake to you, and I rose full early, and spake, and ye obeyed not to me.
15And I sent to you all my servants prophets, and I rose full early, and I sent, and said, Be ye converted, each man from his worst way, and make ye good your studies, and do not ye follow alien gods, neither worship ye them, and ye shall dwell in the land, which I gave to you, and to your fathers; and ye bowed not [in] your ear, neither heard me.
16Therefore the sons of Jonadab, son of Rechab, made steadfast the commandment of their father, which he commanded to them; but this people obeyed not to me.
17Therefore the Lord of hosts, God of Israel, saith these things, Lo! I shall bring on Judah, and on all the dwellers of Jerusalem, all the torment which I spake against them; for I spake to them, and they heard not; I called them, and they answered not to me.
18Forsooth Jeremy said to the house of Rechabites, The Lord of hosts, God of Israel, saith these things, For that that ye obeyed to the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his commandments, and did all things, which he commanded to you;
19therefore the Lord of hosts, God of Israel, saith these things, A man of the generation of Jonadab, son of Rechab, shall not fail standing in my sight in all days.

Jeremià 35
35
I Jeremià sy ny foko Rekabita
1Tamin’ny andron’i Jôiakima, zanakalahin’i Josià sady mpanjakan’i Joda#35.1 Jereo 22.13 sy nta., dia tonga ho an’i Jeremià avy amin’ny TOMPO izao teny izao: 2«Mandehana mankany amin’ny fokon’ny Rekabita#35.2 Ny Rekabita: jereo 2 Mp 10.15-16; 1 Tan 2.55. ka reseo lahatra izy mba hankao amin’ny efitra iray ao an-tranoko, dia rosoy divay hosotroiny.»
3Dia nandeha aho, ka naka an’i Jazanià, zanakalahin’i Jirmeià sady zafikelin’i Habatsinià, mbamin’ny rahalahin’io Jazanià io sy ny zanakalahiny rehetra, dia ny fokon’ny Rekabita manontolo. 4Nampidiriko tao amin’ny efitra iray tao an-tranon’ny TOMPO izy, dia tao amin’ny efitra voatokana ho an’ny mpianatr’i Hanàna, izay lehilahy masina sady zanakalahin’i Jigdalià. Io efitra io dia teo akaikin’ilay efitranon’ireo lehibe ary teo ambonin’ny an’i Mahaseià, zanakalahin’i Salòma izay mpisorona miambina ny varavarana fidirana amin’ny tempoly. 5Dia narosoko teo anoloan’ireo Rekabita ireo ny siny feno divay sy ny tsatokaty, ary hoy aho taminy:
–Misotroa divay ianareo!
6Nefa namaly izy hoe:
–Tsy misotro divay izahay, satria i Jônadaba, zanakalahin’i Rekaba sady razanay, dia efa nandidy anay hoe:
«Aza misotro divay na oviana na oviana,
na ianareo na ny taranakareo.
7Aza manao trano ianareo
na mamboly ny tany
na mamboly voaloboka,
na manana tanimboaloboka;
fa anaty trano lay ihany no hipetrahanareo
mandritra ny androm-piainanareo rehetra,
dia ho ela velona ianareo
any amin’ny tany izay ivahinianareo any.»
8Koa nankatoavinay ny tenin’i Jônadaba zanakalahin’i Rekaba sady razanay, tamin’izay rehetra nanafarany anay. Dia tsy misotro divay na oviana na oviana ny tenanay na ny vadinay na ny zanakay lahy na ny zanakay vavy. 9Tsy manao trano hipetrahanay izahay na manana tanimboaloboka na saha voavoly, 10fa mipetraka an-day. Koa ankatoavinay sy arahinay izay rehetra nanafaran’i Jônadaba razanay anay. 11Fa nony niakatra teto amin’ny tany i Nebokadnetsara mpanjakan’i Babilôna, dia nanapa-kevitra hiditra ato Jerosalema izahay mba handositra ny tafika babilônianina sy sirianina. Koa izany no ipetrahanay eto Jerosalema izao.
12Dia nisy indray tenin’ny TOMPO ho an’i Jeremià nanao hoe:
13«Mitenena amin’ny vahoakan’i Joda sy ny mponina eto Jerosalema ianao, ka ataovy hoe: Izao no lazain’ny TOMPOn’izao rehetra izao sady Andriamanitr’i Israely: Moa tsy tokony ho nandray anatra va ianareo ka ho nihaino izay nolazaiko, hoy ny teny hentitra avy amiko TOMPO? 14Fa i Jônadaba, zanakalahin’i Rekaba, dia nandidy ireo zanany mba tsy hisotro divay, ary nankatoavin’ny Rekabita ny teniny; ka tsy nikasika divay ireo mandraka androany, satria nitana ny hafa-drazany. Izaho anefa, na dia tsy nitsahatra nampitandrina anareo aza, dia tsy mba nohenoinareo akory. 15Tsy nitsahatra nandefa ny mpaminany mpanompoko rehetra nifandimby nankany aminareo Aho hilaza aminareo hoe: ‹Samia miala amin’ny lalan-dratsiny ka manaova ny tsara, atsaharo ny mifikitra amin’andriamani-kafa sy manao fanompoam-pivavahana ho azy, dia hahazo honina eto amin’ny tany efa nomeko anareo sy ny razanareo ianareo.› Kanefa tsy nanongilan-tsofina tamiko sady tsy nihaino Ahy ianareo. 16Ny Rekabita dia nankatò ny hafatra azony tamin’i Jônadaba razambeny, fa ianareo vahoakan’i Joda kosa tsy mba nihaino Ahy.»
17Dia hoy koa i Jeremià hoe: «Noho izany, dia izao no lazain’ny TOMPO Andriamanitr’izao rehetra izao sady Andriamanitr’i Israely: Indro hahatonga ny loza izay voalazako taminareo Aho, ry vahoakan’i Joda sy ry mponin’i Jerosalema. Satria efa niteny taminareo Aho fa tsy nihaino ianareo, efa niantso anareo Aho fa tsy namaly ianareo.»
18Avy eo, dia hoy i Jeremià tamin’ny fokon’ny Rekabita: «Izao no lazain’ny TOMPOn’izao rehetra izao sady Andriamanitr’i Israely: Nitana ny hafatra azonareo tamin’i Jônadaba razanareo ianareo, ka nanatanteraka izany an-tsakany sy an-davany araka izay rehetra nanafarany anareo. 19Noho izany, amin’ny fianakavian’i Jônadaba zanakalahin’i Rekaba, dia hisy hatrany olona hijoro hanompo eo anatrehako. Izaho TOMPOn’izao rehetra izao sady Andriamanitr’i Israely no milaza izany.»
