CHAPTER 25
1The word of the Lord, that was made to Jeremy, of all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, the king of Judah, after that Jeconiah was translated into Babylon; that is the first year of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon;
2which word Jeremy, the prophet, spake to all the people of Judah, and to all the dwellers of Jerusalem, and said,
3From the thirteenth year of the realm of Josiah, the son of Amon, the king of Judah, unto this day, this is the three and twentieth year, the word of the Lord was made to me; and I spake to you, and I rose by night and spake, and ye heard not.
4And the Lord sent to you all his servants prophets, and rose full early, and sent, and ye heard not, neither ye bowed [in] your ears, for to hear;
5when he said, Turn ye again, each man from his evil way, and from your worst thoughts, and ye shall dwell in the land which the Lord gave to you, and to your fathers, from the world and till into the world.
6And do not ye go after alien gods, that ye serve them, and worship them, neither stir ye me to wrath-fulness [or to wrath], in the works of your hands, and I shall not torment you.
7And ye heard not me, saith the Lord, that ye stirred me to wrathful-ness [or to wrath] in the works of your hands, into your [own] evil.
8Therefore the Lord of hosts saith these things, For that that ye heard not my words,
9lo! I shall send, and take all the kindreds of the north, saith the Lord, and Nebuchadnezzar, my servant, the king of Babylon; and I shall bring them on this land, and on the dwellers thereof, and on all nations, that be in the compass thereof; and I shall slay them, and I shall set them into wondering, and into hissing, and into everlasting wildernesses.
10And I shall lose of them the voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of spouse, and the voice of spousess, the voice of [the] quern, and the light of the lantern.
11And all the land thereof shall be into wilderness, and into wondering; and all these folks shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
12And when seventy years be [ful] filled, I shall visit on the king of Babylon, and on that folk, the wicked-ness of them, saith the Lord, and on the land of Chaldees, and I shall set [or put] it into everlasting wildernesses.
13And I shall bring on that land all my words which I spake against it, all thing that is written in this book; whatever things Jeremy prophesied against all folks;
14for they served to them, when they were many folks, and great kings; and I shall yield to them after the works of them, and after the deeds of their hands.
15For the Lord of hosts, God of Israel, saith thus, Take thou the cup of wine of this strong vengeance from mine hand, and thou shall pour out drink thereof to all heathen men, to which I shall send thee.
16And they shall drink, and shall be troubled [or disturbed], and shall be mad, of the face of sword, which I shall send among them.
17And I took the cup from the hand of the Lord, and I poured out drink to all folks, to which the Lord sent me;
18to Jerusalem, and to all the cities of Judah, and to the kings thereof, and to the princes thereof; that I should give them into wilderness, and into wondering, and into hissing, and into cursing, as this day is;
19to Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and to his servants, and to his princes, and to all his people;
20and to all men generally, to all the kings of the land Uz, and to all the kings of the land of Philistines, and to Ashkelon, and to Azzah, and to Ekron, and to the residues of Ashdod;
21to Idumea, and to Moab, and to the sons of Ammon;
22and to all the kings of Tyre, and to all the kings of Sidon, and to the kings of the land of isles that be beyond the sea;
23and to Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and to all men that be clipped on the long hair;
24and to all the kings of Arabia, and to all the kings of the west, that dwell in desert;
25and to all the kings of Zimri, and to all the kings of Elam, and to all the kings of Medes;
26and to all the kings of the north, of nigh and of far, to each man against his brother; and to all the realms of earth, that be on the face thereof; and the king of Sheshach#25:26 Sheshach is another name for Babylon. shall drink after them.
27And thou shalt say to them, The Lord of hosts, God of Israel, saith these things, Drink ye, and be ye drunken, and spew ye, and fall ye down, and do not ye rise from the face of [the] sword which I shall send among you.
28And when they will not take the cup from thine hand, that they drink, thou shalt say to them, The Lord of hosts saith these things, Ye drinking shall drink;
29for lo! in the city in which my name is called to help, I begin to torment, and shall ye as innocents be without pain? ye shall not be without pain, for I call sword on all the dwellers of earth, saith the Lord of hosts.
30And thou shalt prophesy to them all these words, and thou shalt say to them, The Lord shall roar from on high, and from his holy dwelling place he shall give his voice; he roaring shall roar on his fairness; a merry song, as of men treading in pressers [or in wine presses], shall be sung against all [the] dwellers of earth.
31 [The] Sound is come unto the last parts of [the] earth, for why doom is to the Lord with folks, he is deemed with each flesh; the Lord saith, I have given wicked men to the sword.
32The Lord of hosts saith these things, Lo! torment shall go out from folk into folk, and a great whirlwind shall go out from the ends of [the] earth.
33And the slain men of the Lord shall be in that day from the end of the earth unto the end thereof; they shall not be bewailed, neither shall be gathered together, neither shall be buried; they shall lie into a dunghill on the face of [the] earth.
34Yell, ye shepherds, and cry, and, ye principals of the flock, besprinkle you with ashes; for your days be [ful] filled, that ye be slain, and your scatterings be [ful] filled, and ye shall fall as precious vessels.
35And fleeing shall perish from [the] shepherds, and saving shall perish from the principals of the flock.
36The voice of the cry of shepherds, and the yelling of the principals of the flock, for the Lord hath wasted the pastures of them.
37And the fields of peace were stilled, for the face of [the] wrath of the strong vengeance of the Lord.
38He as a lion hath forsaken his tabernacle, for the land of them is made into desolation, of the face of wrath of the culver, and of the face of wrath of the strong vengeance of the Lord.

1Nisy hafatra azon’i Jeremià ho an’ny vahoaka rehetra ao Joda tamin’ny taona fahefatra nanjakan’i Jôiakima, zanakalahin’i Jôsià sady mpanjakan’i Joda#25.1 nanjakan’i Jôiakima: jereo 22.13 sy nta. –taona fahefatra: tamin’ny taona 605 tal J.K.; ampit Dan 1.1-2., dia ny taona voalohany nanjakan’i Nebokadnetsara, mpanjakan’i Babilôna. 2Ka hoy i Jeremià mpaminany tamin’ny vahoaka rehetra ao Joda sy ny mponina rehetra tao Jerosalema:
3«Manomboka amin’ny taona faha-13 nanjakan’i Jôsià, zanakalahin’i Amôna sady mpanjakan’i Joda, ka mandraka androany, izany hoe efa 23 taona izao, no nanambarako sy namerimberenako taminareo ny hafatra nampitondrain’ny TOMPO ahy, nefa tsy nihaino ianareo. 4Tsy nitsahatra naniraka ny mpaminany mpanompony#25.4 Jereo 7.25 sy nta. tany aminareo ny TOMPO nefa tsy nihaino na niraharaha akory ianareo. 5Hoy Izy taminareo: «Samia miala amin’ny fitondrantena sy fanao ratsiny avy ianareo, dia haveriko honina ao amin’ny tany izay nomeko anareo sy ny razanareo hatrizay ka ho mandrakizay ianareo. 6Aza mifikitra amin’ireo andriamani-kafa hivavaka aminy na hiankohoka eo anatrehany, ary aza mampahatezitra Ahy amin’ny fanaovana sampy; dia tsy hahatonga loza aminareo Aho. 7Nefa tsy nihaino Ahy ianareo, hoy ny teny hentitra avy amiko TOMPO; fa vao mainka aza nampahatezitra Ahy tamin’ny fanaovana sampy mba hahatonga loza aminareo.»
8Koa izao no lazain’ny TOMPOn’izao rehetra izao: «Satria tsy nihaino ny teniko ianareo, 9dia hampaniraka haka ireo fokom-pirenena rehetra any avaratra Aho#25.9 Jereo 1.14 sy nta., ary hiantso an’i Nebokadnetsara mpanjakan’i Babilôna sady mpanompoko. Hasaiko tonga izy hamely ity tany ity sy ny mponina eo ary koa hamely ireto firenena rehetra manodidina anareo ireto; samy haringako tokoa ireo ka hampahonena sy hampivarahontsana ary ho tonga oha-pandatsana mandrakizay. Teny hentitra avy amiko TOMPO izany. 10Hofoanako tsy hisy eo aminareo ny tabataban’ny fety, ny horakora-pifaliana sy ny hiran’ny mpanambady, ny fidilotry ny vato fikoseham-bary ary ny fahazavan’ny jiro#25.10 Jereo Jer 7.34 sy nta.. 11Ho rava sy hampahonena ny tany manontolo ary hanompo ny mpanjakan’i Babilôna mandritra ny fitopolo taona#25.11 Jereo 2 Tan 36.21; Jer 29.10; Dan 9.2. ny firenen-kafa rehetra.
12Rehefa tapitra ny fitopolo taona, dia hirotsaka an-tsehatra Aho hamaly an’i Nebokadnetsara sy ny vahoakany noho ny helony, hamely ny taniny Aho ka hanao azy ho taniefitra rava mandrakizay. Teny hentitra avy amiko TOMPO izany. 13Hataoko mihatra amin’izany tany izany ny loza rehetra izay efa nolazaiko. Voasoratra ao anatin’ity boky ity ireny, dia araka izay efa nambaran’ny mpaminany Jeremià ny amin’ny firenena rehetra. 14Anjaran’ny Babilônianina kosa amin’izay ny hanompo firenen-dehibe sy mpanjaka mahery. Havaliko azy ny ratsy rehetra nataony.
Famaizana ho an’ny firenen-drehetra
15Izao no voalazan’ny TOMPO Andriamanitr’i Israely tamiko: «Raiso etỳ an-tanako ity tsangambava izay feno ny divaim-pahatezerako ity, ka ampisotroy ny firenena rehetra izay anirahako anao. 16Hisotroany anie izany ka hampivembena sy hahavery saina azy eo anoloan’ny fandringanana izay halefako eo anivony.»
17Dia noraisiko ny tsangambava izay teny an-tanan’ny TOMPO, ary nampisotroiko ny firenena rehetra izay nanirahan’ny TOMPO ahy. 18I Jerosalema sy ireo tanànan’i Joda mbamin’ireo mpanjaka sy mpanapaka teo aminy no nanombohako izany mba hahatonga ireo toerana ireo ho rava ka hampahonena sy hampivarahontsana ary ho tonga oha-panozonana, araka izao toe-javatra ankehitriny izao.
19Dia tonga ny anjaran’ny firenen-kafa:
–Ny Farao mpanjakan’i Ejipta sy ireo tandapany ary ny mpifehiny mbamin’ny vahoakany rehetra, 20miaraka amin’ireo firenena madinika samihafa monina any Ejipta;
–ireo mpanjaka rehetra amin’ny tany Hotsy#25.20 Ao atsimon’ny Ranomasina Maty, ao amin’ny tanin’i Edôma no nisy an’i Hotsy.;
–ireo mpanjaka rehetra amin’ny tanin’ny Filistinina: dia ny tao Askelôna sy tao Gazà sy tao Hekrôna ary tao amin’ny faritra sisa eo Asdôda;
21–ny Edômita sy ny Môabita ary ny Hamônita;
22–ireo mpanjaka rehetra tao Tiro sy tao Tsidôna ary tao amin’ny tany amorontsiraka any ampitan-dranomasina any;
23–ny mponina any Dedàna sy Temà ary Bozỳ mbamin’ireo olona rehetra mpiharatra fihirifana#25.23 Dedàna, Temà, Bozỳ: saha lonaka mitsitokotoko any Arabia. –mpiharatra fihirifana: jereo 9.25.;
24–ireo mpanjaka rehetra any Arabia sy any amin’ireo foko samihafa monina any an-taniefitra;
25–ireo mpanjaka rehetra any Zimrỳ#25.25 Zimrỳ: tany tsy fantatra mazava, fa misy mihevitra azy ho tanin’ny Simerianina na Armenia. sy any Helama ary any Media;
26–ireo mpanjaka rehetra any avaratra, na ny lavitra na ny akaiky.
Izany hoe ny fanjakana rehetra teto amin’izao tontolo izao, manerana ny velaran-tany, dia samy tsy maintsy nisotro tsirairay tamin’izany tsangambava feno ny divaim-pahatezeran’ny Tompo izany; ary ny mpanjakan’i Sesàka#25.26 Sesàka: mety ho fanoratana an-kolaka amin’ny teny hebreo ny anaran’i Babilôna. no nisotro namarana azy.
27Nanafatra ahy ny Tompo hilaza amin’izy rehetra hoe: «Izao no lazain’ny TOMPOn’izao rehetra izao, Andriamanitr’i Israely: Misotroa ianareo ka mimamoa sy mandoava ary mianjerà amin’ny tany mihitsy; ka tsy ho tafarina intsony ianareo noho ny fandringanana izay halefako eo anivonareo.» 28Ary nampiany hoe: «Raha misy mandà tsy hisotro amin’ny tsangambava izay atolotrao azy, dia ilazao hoe: Izany no baikon’ny TOMPOn’izao rehetra izao ka tsy maintsy misotro ianareo. 29Ireo tanàna izay natokana ho Ahy aza no nanombohako nandefasana loza, ka ianareo ve no hataoko afa-maina? Tsia, tsy hataoko afa-maina ianareo, fa hiantso sabatra hamely ny mponina rehetra eo amin’ny tany Aho. Izany no teny hentitra avy amiko TOMPOn’izao rehetra izao.»
30Ary hoy koa ny Tompo tamiko:
«Ijoroy ny maha-mpaminany anao ny amin’ireo mpanjaka rehetra ireo araka ny teny voalazako teo ka ampio hoe:
Avy any ambony any ny TOMPO no manerona,
avy ao amin’ny fonenany masina Izy no manandra-peo.
Eny, manerona mafy amin’ny toeram-pitsaharany Izy
ka mihorakoraka toy ny mpanosihosy voaloboka.
31Tonga amin’ny mponina rehetra amin’ny tany
izany feo mitrena ataon’ny Tompo izany,
ary tafapaka hatrany amin’ny faran’ny tany.
Manana ady atao amin’ireo firenena ny TOMPO
ka miantso ny olona rehetra ho eo amin’ny fitsarana.
Izay olon-dratsy dia hatolony haringana.
Izany no teny hentitry ny TOMPO.»
32Izao no lazain’ny TOMPOn’izao rehetra izao:
«Indro miainga ao amin’ny firenena iray ny loza
ka mihanaka any amin’ny firenena hafa;
misy tafio-drivotra mahery
mipoitra avy any am-paran’ny tany.»
33Amin’izany andro izany,
manomboka amin’ny tendron-tany ankilany
ka hatrany amin’ny tendron-tany andaniny,
izay nasian’ny TOMPO ho faty dia tsy hisaonana;
tsy hangonina na halevina izy ireny,
fa ho tonga zezika eo amin’ny velaran-tany.
34Midradradradrà, ianareo mpitondra,
manaova antsoantsom-pitarainana;
mihosinkosena amin’ny tany,
ianareo mpiandraikitra andian’ondry,
fa tonga ny andro hamonoana anareo ho faty!
Hataoko montsamontsana ianareo,
ka ho toy ny fanaka sarobidy nianjera.
35Tsy manan-kisitrihana intsony ny mpitondra;
tsy manan-kialofana ny mpiandraikitra andian’ondry.
36Reko ny antsoantsom-pitarainany
sy ny fidradradradrana ataony,
satria efa simban’ny TOMPO
ireo kijana fiandrasany.
37Nirehitra ny hatezeran’ny TOMPO
dia gina ilay kijana niadanana.
38Tahaka ny liona tanora
nandao ny kirihitra fiereny
no fahalasanan’ireo mpitondra
Efa tonga lao ny taniny
satria mahatsiravina ny ady
ary mirehitra ny hatezeran’ny Tompo.
