23
CHAPTER 23
1Woe to the shepherds, that scatter and draw the flock of my pasture, saith the Lord.
2Therefore the Lord God of Israel saith these things to the shepherds that feed my people, Ye have scattered my flock, and have cast them out, and have not visited them; lo! I shall visit on you the malice of your studies, saith the Lord.
3And I shall gather together the remnants of my flock from all lands, to which I shall cast them out thither; and I shall turn them to their fields, and they shall increase, and shall be multiplied.
4And I shall raise up shepherds on them, and they shall feed them; they shall no more dread, and shall not be afeared; and none shall be sought of the number, saith the Lord.
5Lo! days come, saith the Lord, and I shall raise a just [or rightwise] burgeoning, either seed, to David; and he shall reign a king, and he shall be wise, and he shall make doom and rightfulness [or rightwiseness] in earth.
6In those days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell trustily; and this is the name which they shall call him, The Lord our rightful [or Our rightwise Lord].
7For this thing lo! days come, saith the Lord, and they shall no more say, The Lord liveth, that led the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
8but, The Lord liveth, that led out, and brought the seed of the house of Israel from the land of the north, and from all lands to which I had cast them out thither; and they shall dwell in their [own] land.
9To the prophets; Mine heart is contrite, either all-broken for sorrow, in the midst of me, all my bones trembled together; I am made as a man drunken, and as a man wet of wine, of the face of the Lord, and of the face of the holy words of him;
10for the land is filled with adulterers. For the earth mourned of the face of cursing; the fields of desert be made dry, the course of them is made evil, and their strength is unlike.
11For why the prophet and the priest be defouled; and in mine house, saith the Lord, I found the evil of them.
12Therefore the way of them shall be as slidery thing in darknesses, for they shall be hurtled, either shoved, and shall fall down therein; for I shall bring on them evils, the year of [the] visitation of them, saith the Lord.
13And in the prophets of Samaria I saw fondness [or folly], and they prophesied in Baal, and deceived my people Israel.
14And in the prophets of Jerusalem I saw, likeness, adultery, and the way of leasing; and they comforted the hands of the worst men, that each man should not convert from his malice; all they be made as Sodom to me, and all the dwellers thereof be made as Gomorrah.
15Therefore the Lord of hosts saith these things to the prophets, Lo! I shall feed them with wormwood, and I shall give drink to them with gall; for why defouling is gone out of the prophets of Jerusalem on all the land.
16The Lord of hosts saith these things, Do not ye hear the words of [the] prophets, that prophesy to you, and deceive you; they speak the vision of their heart, not of the mouth of the Lord.
17They say to them that blaspheme me, The Lord spake, Peace shall be to you; and they said to each man that goeth in the shrewdness of his heart, Evil shall not come [up] on you.
18For why who is present in the counsel of the Lord, and saw, and heard his word? who beheld, and heard the word of him?
19Lo! the whirlwind of the Lord’s indignation shall go out, and tempest breaking [out] shall come [up] on the head of wicked men.
20The strong vengeance of the Lord shall not turn again, till that he do, and till that he [ful] fill the thought of his heart. In the last days ye shall understand the counsel of him.
21I sent not the prophets, and they ran; I spake not to them, and they prophesied.
22If they had stood in my counsel, and had made known my words to my people, forsooth I had turned them away from their evil way, and from their worst thoughts.
23Guessest thou, whether I am God of nigh, saith the Lord, and not God afar?
24A man shall not be privy in hid places, and I shall not see him, saith the Lord. Whether I fill not heaven and earth? saith the Lord.
25I heard what things the prophets said, prophesying leasing in my name, and saying, I dreamed dreams.
26How long is this thing in the heart of prophets, prophesying leasing, and prophesying the deceit of their heart?
27Which will make, that my people forget my name for the dreams of them, which each man telleth to his neighbour, as the fathers of them forgat my name for Baal.
28A prophet that hath a dream, tell a dream; and he that hath my word, speak verily my word. What is with [the] chaffs to the wheat? saith the Lord.
29Whether my words be not as fire burning, saith the Lord, and as an hammer all-breaking a stone?
30Therefore lo! I am ready to the prophets, saith the Lord, that steal my words, each man from his neighbour.
31Lo! I to the prophets, saith the Lord, that take their tongues, and say, The Lord saith.
32Lo! I to the prophets, dreaming leasing, saith the Lord; which told them, and deceived my people in their leasing, and in their miracles, when I had not sent them, neither had commanded to them; which profited nothing to this people, saith the Lord.
33Therefore if this people, either prophet, either priest, asketh thee, and saith, What is the burden of the Lord? thou shalt say to them, Ye be the burden, for I shall cast you away, saith the Lord;
34and a prophet, and a priest, and the people, that saith, The burden of the Lord, I shall visit on that man, and on his house.
35Ye shall say these things, each man to his neighbour, and to his brother, What answered the Lord? and, What spake the Lord?
36For the burden of the Lord shall no more be remembered, and the word of each man shall be a burden to him; and ye have perverted the words of [the] living God, of the Lord of hosts, your God.
37Thou shalt say these things to the prophet, What answered the Lord to thee? and, What spake the Lord?
38Forsooth if ye say, The burden of the Lord, for this thing the Lord saith these things, For ye said this word, The burden of the Lord, and I sent to you, and I said, Do not ye say, The burden of the Lord;
39therefore lo! I shall take you away, and shall bear, and I shall forsake you, and the city which I gave to you, and to your fathers, from my face.
40And I shall give you into everlasting shame, and into everlasting scandal, that shall never be done away by forgetting.

Ireo mpitondra ratsy sy ny mpanjaka mpamonjy
1«Lozanareo mpitarika ny vahoakako, hoy ny teny hentitry ny TOMPO, fa mpiandry ratsy mamela ny andian’ondry ho reraka sy hihahaka ianareo.» 2Koa izao no lazain’ny TOMPO Andriamanitr’i Israely ny amin’ireo mpiandry ratsy ireo: «Navelanareo hihahaka sy naparitakareo ny ondriko fa tsy nokarakarainareo. Koa indro Aho hirotsaka an-tsehatra hamely anareo noho ny asa ratsinareo! Teny hentitra avy amiko TOMPO izany.
3«Koa Izaho ihany no hanangona ireo andian’ondry sisa velona avy any amin’ny tany rehetra izay nanapariahako azy. Haveriko ao amin’ny saha firaofany izy ka hitombo sy hihamaro. 4Hanendry mpiandry mahafatra-po ho azy Aho, ka tsy hanan-tahotra na horohoro intsony izy, ary tsy hisy ho banga amin’ny fiantsoana. Izany no teny hentitra avy amiko TOMPO.»

Mpanjaka hanjaka am-pahendrena izy,
ka dia ny rariny sy ny hitsiny
no hampihariny eo amin’ny tany.
6Amin’ny andro hanjakany
no hamonjena an’i Joda
sy hiainan’i Israely am-pilaminana.
Izao no anarana hiantsoana azy:

9Ny amin’ireo mpaminany#23.9 Ny fiandohan’ny and 9 dia miendrika lohateny ho an’ny 23.9-40, izay antsoina indraindray hoe bokikely momba ny mpaminany. .
Torotoro ny foko ato anatiko,
mangovitra ny tenako manontolo.
Toy ny olona mamo sy lehilahy leon-divay aho
noho ny TOMPO ary noho ny teny masina
izay voalazany tamiko hoe:
10«Feno olona mijangajanga#23.10 mijangajanga: jereo and 14; 29.23 sy nta 2.20; 3.8. ny tany.
Mirohotra amin’ny faharatsiana izy

hany ka misakana ny tsirairay
hiala amin’ny faharatsiany.

ary hampisotroiko rano voapoizina,
satria ny mpaminanin’i Jerosalema
no ipoiran’ny faharatsiana rehetra
izay mifindra amin’ny tany manontolo.»

16Izao no lazain’ny TOMPOn’izao rehetra izao:
«Aza henoinareo ny teny
izay ampitain’ireo mpaminany ireo;
fa mamitaka anareo fotsiny izy.
Ny fanambaràna izay lazainy aminareo
dia avy amin’ny eritreriny ihany
fa tsy avy amin’ny vavako.
17Ny olona maniratsira ny teniko
dia sahiny ilazana hoe:
‹Hisy fiadanana ho anareo›.
Mikiribiby amin’ny ditram-pony
dia anambaràny hoe:
‹Tsy hahatratra antsika ny loza.›
18Iza moa no efa nanatrika
tao amin’ny filankevitro, hoy Izaho TOMPO?
Iza no nahita sy nandre izay nolazaiko tao?
Ary iza no naharay sy nahatakatra ny teniko?»

19Indro tamy ny rambon-danitra,
dia ny fahatezeran’ny TOMPO.
Toy ny rivo-doza mitambolimbolina
no fiantontany eny an-dohan’ny olon-dratsy.
20Tsy hitsahatra mirehitra
ny fahatezeran’ny TOMPO,
raha tsy efa nahatontosa sy nahatanteraka
izay fandaharan-javatra notapahiny.

21Tsy naniraka ireo mpaminany ireo Aho,
kanefa nidodododo ihany izy, hoy ny Tompo.
Tsy nilaza taminy na inona na inona Aho
kanefa nanao fanambaràna ihany izy.
22Raha nanatrika ny filankevitro izy,
dia ho afa-nampita ny teniko tamin’ny vahoakako
ka ho nitarika azy hiala amin’ny lalan-dratsiny
sy amin’ny zava-mamohehatra fanaony.
Manatrika eran’izao rehetra izao ny Tompo
23Hoy ny teny hentitry ny TOMPO hoe:
«Moa Andriamanitra tsy mahita
afa-tsy ny akaiky ihany va Aho?
Tsia, fa mahita ny lavitra koa Aho.
24Raha misy olona miery ao anaty fiafenana,
dia tsy ho hitako ve izy?
Fanontaniana hentitra avy amiko TOMPO izany.
Tsy manerana ny lanitra sy ny tany ve Aho?
Fanontaniana hentitra avy amiko TOMPO izany.
Aza afangaro ny vary sy ny mololo
25Izaho Tompo efa nandre izay nolazain’ireo mpaminany mihambo miteny amin’ny anarako kanefa milaza lainga manao hoe: «Nanonofy aho, eny, nanonofy aho.» 26Mandra-pahoviana no ho toy izany? Fa inona no ao an-tsain’ireny mpaminany ireny, rehefa milaza lainga izy na milaza hevi-dravina ihany? 27Nony mifampitantara nofy izy, dia tsy mikendry afa-tsy ny hanadinoan’ny vahoakako Ahy, tahaka ny nanadinoan’ny razany Ahy ka nanompoany an’i Bahala. 28Raha misy mpaminany manonofy, dia aoka izy hilaza ny nofiny! Fa raha mitondra hafatra avy amiko izy, dia aoka hanambara marina ny teniko!
Aoka tsy hafangaro ny mololo sy ny vary
hoy ny teny hentitra avy amiko TOMPO.
29ny teniko dia toy ny afo mandoro,
ary toy ny kanonta manorotoro vatolampy,
hoy ny teny hentitra avy amiko TOMPO.
30Noho izany, hoy ny teny hentitra avy amiko TOMPO, dia indro Aho hamely ireo mpaminany izay mifangalatra ny hafatro ireo. 31Eny, hoy ny teny hentitra avy amiko TOMPO, indro Aho hamely ny mpaminany izay nampifangaro ny teniny amin’ny teniko. 32Indro Aho hamely ny mpaminany mihambo ho mahita fahitana, hoy ny teny hentitra ambarako. Fa rehefa mitantara izany izy, dia mampivily ny vahoakako amin’ny lainga sy habobo ampitainy. Izaho anefa tsy naniraka azy na nanome baiko azy. Tsy mahasoa ny vahoakako akory izy, hoy ny teny hentitra ambarako.
Moa enta-mavesatra ve ny tenin’ny Tompo?
33Ary hoy ny TOMPO tamin’i Jeremià:
–Raha misy mpaminany na mpisorona na olona hafa manontany anao hoe: «Inona no hafatry ny TOMPO, inona no enta-mavesatra anereny antsika?», dia hovalianao hoe: «Ianareo no enta-mavesatra; noho izany, dia hariako ianareo, hoy ny teny hentitry ny TOMPO.» 34Raha misy mpaminany na mpisorona na olon-kafa miresaka ny hoe «enta-mavesatra aneren’ny TOMPO», dia hirotsaka an-tsehatra hamely izany olona izany sy ny ankohonany Aho. 35Izay tokony hifanontanianareo dia ny hoe: «Inona no navalin’ny TOMPO?» na «Inona no voalazan’ny TOMPO?» 36Ary ny hoe «enta-mavesatra aneren’ny TOMPO» dia tsy tokony hotononinareo intsony. Fa moa enta-mavesatra ho an’ny olona tokoa ve ny tenin’Andriamanitra? Tsia, fa raha izany dia avadikareo ny tenin’Andriamanitra velona, dia ny TOMPOn’izao rehetra izao sady Andriamanitr’i Israely. 37Eny, izay tokony hanontanianareo ny mpaminany dia ny hoe: «Inona no navalin’ny TOMPO anao, inona no voalazan’ny TOMPO taminao?» 38Fa raha mbola teneninareo ihany ny hoe «enta-mavesatra aneren’ny TOMPO», na dia efa nandrarako anareo aza, 39dia hataoko toy ny enta-mavesatra eo an-tsoroko ianareo, ka hariako ny tenanareo sy ity tanàna izay nomeko anareo sy ny razanareo ity. 40Hatolotro ho amin’ny henatra sy ny fahafaham-baràka tsy hohadinoina mandrakizay ianareo.
