A Prayer of David.
1Incline Your ear, O Lord, and answer me, # Ps 31:2
for I am poor and needy. # Ps 40:17
2Preserve my soul, for I am godly; # Ps 4:3
You are my God; save Your servant
who trusts in You.
3Be merciful to me, O Lord, # Ps 57:1
for to You I cry all day long. # Ps 88:9
4Make joyful the soul of Your servant,
for to You, O Lord,
I lift my soul. # Ps 25:1; 143:8
5For You, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
abounding in mercy # Ex 34:6; Ps 103:8; Joel 2:13 to all who call on You.
6Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer;
and attend to the voice of my supplications.
7In the day of my trouble I will call upon You, # Ps 50:15
for You will answer me.
8Among the gods there is none like You, O Lord;
nor are there any works like Your works. # Ex 15:11; Dt 3:24
9All nations whom You have made
shall come and worship before You, O Lord,
and shall glorify Your name. # Ps 66:4; Rev 15:4
10For You are great and do wondrous deeds;
You alone are God. # Ps 72:18; 1Co 8:4
11Teach me Your way, O Lord;
I will walk in Your truth; # Ps 26:3
unite my heart
to fear Your name.
12I will give thanks to You, O Lord my God, with all my heart,
and I will glorify Your name forever.
13For great is Your mercy toward me;
You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol. # Ps 88:6
14O God, insolent men have risen against me;
a band of violent men have sought my life,
and they have not set You before them. # Ps 54:3
15But You, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God,
slow to anger and abundant in mercy and truth. # Nu 14:18; Ne 9:17
16Turn to me and have mercy on me; # Ps 25:16
give Your strength to Your servant,
and save the son of Your maidservant. # Ps 116:16
17Show me a sign of Your favor,
that those who hate me may see it and be ashamed,
because You, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.
