82
A Psalm of Asaph.
1God has taken His place in the divine council;
He renders judgment among the gods. # 2Ch 19:6–7
2“How long will you judge unjustly
and show partiality to the wicked? # Dt 1:17; Ps 58:1–2; Pr 18:5 Selah
3Defend the poor and the fatherless;
do justice to the afflicted and the needy. # Ps 10:18; Jer 22:16
4Rescue the poor and the needy; # Job 29:12
deliver them from the hand of the wicked.
5“They have neither knowledge nor understanding; # Mic 3:1
they walk around in darkness;
all the foundations of the earth are shaken.” # Ps 11:3
6I said, “You are gods, # Jn 10:34
sons of the Most High, all of you;
7but you shall die like men, # Ps 49:12; Eze 31:14
and fall like one of the princes.”
8Arise, O God, judge the earth;
for You shall inherit all the nations. # Ps 2:8; Rev 11:15
