1Praise the Lord!
Praise, O servants of the Lord,
praise the name of the Lord.
2Blessed be the name of the Lord
from this time forth and forevermore. # Da 2:20
3From the rising of the sun to its setting, # Isa 59:19; Mal 1:11
the name of the Lord is to be praised.
4The Lord is high above all nations, # Ps 99:2
and His glory above the heavens. # Ps 8:1
5Who is like the Lord our God, # Ex 15:11; Ps 89:6
who dwells on high,
6who looks far down
on the heavens and on the earth? # Ps 11:4; 138:6
7He raises the poor from the dust,
and lifts the needy out of the ash heap, # Ps 107:41
8to seat him with princes, # Job 36:7
with the princes of His people.
9He gives the barren woman a home, # 1Sa 2:5; Ps 68:6
to be a joyful mother of children.
Praise the Lord!
