Jesus began to say to everyone, "If anyone desires to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake—this person will save it.

But Jesus said, "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God."

For what does it profit a person if he gains the whole world yet loses or forfeits his own soul?

For whoever is ashamed of Me and of My words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of this one when He comes in His glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.

Jesus said to him, "Foxes have dens, and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head."

He said to them, "Whoever receives this child in My name receives Me. And whoever receives Me receives the One who sent Me. For the one who is least among all of you—this is the one who is truly great."
