Today in the city of David, a Saviour has been born to you. He is Christ the Lord—the Messiah!

In that same region, there were shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock during the night. An angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone brilliantly around them. They were terrified and filled with great fear.
