Happy New Year everyone! As we come into not only a new year, but a new decade, we have decided to collectively embark on 21 days of prayer and feasting! We pray as you read and meditate over these devotions, you come with an attitude of thanksgiving and praise. Come thanking God in prayer that He has already given it to us!

As a new follower of Jesus we want to help you be with Jesus so you can become more like Jesus. We created a simple plan to read the book of John for you to get into God's Word to grow in your faith.

Stories of the nativity are important, but the story of why Jesus came should involve so much more than a manger scene. Focusing on one chapter a day through the book of John will reveal the beauty of who Christ is and why His birth was so important. In the flurry of Christmas, keep your eyes on Him. Come and see why Jesus is our greatest gift.

John’s Gospel is a theologically intimate telling of the life and ministry of Jesus. John shows that Jesus is the preexistent Word who took on flesh to dwell among us. He is God's Son whose miraculous signs show evidence of His divinity. He is the Great “I Am” who has come to bring eternal life to all who believe.

This devotional will guide and direct you during 21 days of prayer and fasting. To be empowered, we need to spend time in the secret place with God. We need to dwell there and not be a visitor. Consistency in the secret place will enable us to receive power from our God on High. Whether you seek a fresh start or desire to deepen your faith, this devotional will guide you into greater intimacy with God.

As we anticipate Christmas and remember the arrival of Jesus, come and see how the Light of the World changes everything. So wherever you need light most in your life this Advent season, we pray this 23-day plan through the Gospel of John will remind you of the hope, safety and belonging found in Jesus — the Light in the darkness.

This plan is designed for new Bible readers to teach and model a simple process for ordinary people to hear God's voice within God's Word and grow in their understanding of Him. The Gospel of John is a great place to start discovering who Jesus is and the SOAP acronym guides us as we invite God to speak to us about our own lives.
