This is the question addressed in 1 John, the letter we shall dive deep into in this plan. John writes in 1 John in the wake of a schism in the churches he oversees to help Christians like you and me navigate this leading question: what makes genuine Christianity genuine, and what are the features of false Christianity, and how can we tell the difference?

Hearing the voice of God is a profound and essential part of the Christian life. God speaks in various ways—sometimes audibly, through circumstances, through dreams, or through other people. But primarily, He speaks through His written word. This reading plan studies how you can hear God’s voice and respond in faith to draw closer to God and grow in your relationship with Him.

"Who is God?" is perhaps one of the most commonly asked questions in all of history, if we haven't said it, we've probably thought it. We're all on a journey of discovering in greater detail in answer to this question, this plan is designed to keep you on the right track.

Immediately in the first chapter of the Bible, we read how God created light. And further on in the Bible, light is often used as a metaphor for God’s domain as opposed to the domain of sin and death. Jesus even calls Himself “the Light of the world”. Light and darkness thus have an important place in the Bible. This reading plan presents a selection of verses about this topic.

Over the next 15 days, read through John’s letter to the church in 1 John alongside explanatory passages adapted from ESV Expository Commentary: Hebrews–Revelation (Volume 12).

1 John is the first of three short letters written by the disciple John. 1 John is thought to have been written to the churches around Ephesus in around 90AD. In this short letter, we start to see and grasp the magnitude of God’s perfect character, and how much his love has radically been shown to us through Jesus. OUR GOD IS ____ ?

The Apostle John had one clear message in his letters: Love one another. In the letters of 1, 2, and 3 John, the beloved disciple encouraged followers of Christ to love God by following His commands, and to love and honor fellow believers. John’s message is incredibly relevant to us today, offering insight to us as we seek to live like Jesus lived and love like Jesus loved.

Deeper into Scripture is a methodology of scripture reading that instructs, encourages and equips people to read God’s Word daily and deeply. We have created a unique four-fold method of bible reading that directs the individual to read a short passage of scripture four times. Each reading is done with a different question, instruction or objective to be considered. This repetitive reading and instruction takes us deeply into the Word of God and draws us closer to Him.
