The Bible Explained: Zephaniah

The prophet Zephaniah prophecies the end of the world. Soon, God will cover the earth in a purifying flame. God’s fire will burn all evil and proud people from the earth, but it will leave behind a cleansed world for the humble to inherit. 

Ultimately, the end of the world began when Jesus came to earth. In his life, he began to purge the world of its evil and pride. And through his humble death, Jesus made a way for the humble to inherit the earth.

This Bible study devotional covers Zephaniah 1:1-2:3. In this passage, Zephaniah prophecies that on a day in the near future, God will raise an empire to end the pride, violence, and idolatry of both Judah and the rest of the world’s leaders.
