Compromise
Once, there was a diamond merchant who accepted the Lord as his personal Savior. Every Sunday, he would go to church to worship the Lord. Days passed by and his former friends came seeking him one after the other. They said to him, “The most important and valuable diamond sales take place on Sundays throughout the world. You lose a lot by going to Church on Sundays.” He was influenced by their advice, and gradually stopped going to Church. One particular Sunday, a businessman offered to bring him one of the most expensive diamonds in the world. So, he readily dropped the idea of going to Church and went to buy the diamonds. After their deal, he gave the money to the businessman. He counted all the money and without delay drew out a pistol and pointed at him. He threatened him and escaped with the diamond and the money. The merchant broke into tears, crying out, “Alas! I have lost all my earnings in a fraction of a second.” He had given heed to the advice of the scornful, despising his Lord and in the end he was like an orphan on the street.
My friend, when you compromise anything that concerns the Lord, this is the end result. Jesus says, whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven. So be careful about compromising things of the Lord. If God speaks to You give heed to it. Do not reject it.
Prayer
“Loving Lord, I thank You for speaking to me through Your words. Unlike this businessman, Lord, I commit myself to You and I will not compromise on anything that concerns You. Hold me together with Your steadfast love. Give me the grace to lend my ears to listen to You. This I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Every day we must know the plans that the Lord has kept in store for our lives. The Lord has given us His word to reveal His plans to us. He reveals His plans through the word of God as we read it with reverence and prayer. When we hear His voice through our meditation of His word our hearts will burn like fire filled with joy (Psalm 39:3). Then as we follow it with proclamation of those words through the power of the Holy Spirit through our prayer, the blessings of that day will come upon us. Not only the blessings, but the grace of God shall come upon us to carry out that day’s work. We have compiled the Bible passage for you to read as well as the Lord’s revelation for each day. We pray that through this the Lord may give you the grace to be connected to Him throughout this year.
