The Biblical Benefit Of HindsightShembull

Sell our possessions? Really? On eBay? Gumtree? How many of us would really be prepared to do that? And yet Jesus is challenging us that our material possessions will not survive, will not bring us happiness, and that heavenly treasure is the only treasure worth having. In verse 31 Jesus says, ‘seek his kingdom’. But often we find ourselves seeking things of this world, as if we will find happiness in them, security, prestige or affirmation. Does your heart first and foremost desire the Lord and his kingdom? Pray: Dear God, change my heart so that I will seek you above all things. Please do not let me be tempted by the accumulation of material wealth for any reason. I ask it in Jesus’ name. Amen.
