YOUR CHOICE MATTERS

From the very beginning, God gave mankind the freedom to choose. In the Garden of Eden, He clearly told Adam and Eve what to choose—and what to avoid. He also explained the consequences of both right and wrong choices. We are even more privileged than those who lived in the Old or New Testament times. We have God’s Word in full, and we have the Holy Spirit to guide us. This means we can make choices that honour God and bless our lives.

But to do that, we must first walk with God. It’s not enough to know Jesus as our Saviour; we need to have a daily relationship with Him. When we come together in prayer, read His Word, and listen for the Spirit’s prompting, we begin to know God’s will for our lives and for the decisions we take. Sometimes, we pray but don’t stop long enough to hear Him speak. How often have we said “Amen” and rushed off to the next thing, missing what God wanted to say?

Let’s ask ourselves: Did I make choices based on God’s guidance or on the popular opinions of the world? When was the last time you truly heard God speak? The truth is, God is always speaking. But often, we don’t take time to stop, listen, and obey. Let’s commit today to slowing down and waiting on Him. Remember: God’s will is always good, pleasing, and perfect. The choice is ours.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, forgive me for the times I have rushed through my prayers and neglected to listen for Your voice, resulting in hasty decisions. I commit to seeking You daily, reading Your Word, and waiting for the Holy Spirit to speak to me. I choose to follow Your will, for I know it is always good, pleasing, and perfect. Guide me, Lord, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Master, the Tempest Is Raging

The disciples were caught in a storm while Jesus slept in their boat. They woke Him, pleading for help, and He miraculously calmed the storm. Similarly, in troubled marriages, we may seek God’s divine intervention, but God often focuses on transforming hearts. This devotional encourages opening our hearts to Jesus for the necessary support in a marital relationship. In order to restore a marriage relationship, God may sometimes choose just one spouse. You may be that one! We pray that this devotional will guide you in opening your heart to Jesus, allowing Him to provide the counsel you need.
