 MY LIFE’S GOAL 

The more I read the Bible and the more I follow Jesus, I discover that my life's goal is pretty uncomplicated. It is simply this: to become like Jesus.

Well- known author and speaker, John Stott said it best towards the end of his life: So, I want to share with you where my mind has come to rest as I approach the end of my pilgrimage on earth, and it is- God wants His people to become like Christ. Christlikeness is the will of God for the people of God.

What does it mean to 'become like Jesus’?

The gospel of John, the focus for this Bible plan, drives the reader through a journey towards becoming like Jesus. In fact, the author of this gospel captures the purpose statement of this book in John 20:31

“But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”

To become like Jesus, is a lifetime journey, which the gospel of John captures in these three elements: 

- An experience with the PRESENCE of Jesus- ask the blind man (John 9). He realized he was a different person after his encounter with Jesus. We need to desire to seek Jesus above all things. 

- A commitment to know the PERSON of Jesus- ask Martha and Mary. (John 11) In the midst of their deepest need, they believed in who Jesus is, as the Resurrection and the Life and decided to follow Him. 

- A passion to follow the PATHWAY of Jesus: ask Peter or the beloved disciple. They eagerly decided to follow Jesus in everything. 

Most of us who handle computers understand this interesting phenomenon. 99 percent of the time our desktop or laptop cooperates with us. But after several years, occasionally, it tends to give technical problems. Once in a while, it gives the look and feel that it's going to give up the ghost. The only option at that time is to REBOOT the system. Strangely, it usually works. 

Starting this Bible plan is an invitation to REBOOT your walk with Jesus. It's an opportunity to start over.
