Freed from sin
Most young people think they aren't going to die until they are old. So you might be surprised to know that one part of you is already dead. "We know that the person we used to be was crucified with Him to put an end to sin in our bodies. Because of this we are no longer slaves to sin. The person who has died has been freed from sin" (Romans 6:6,7).
When Jesus died on a cross, you were crucified too. He took all of your bad thoughts and actions and hung them on the cross with Him. All your "old self/bad self" is now dead and buried with Jesus.
When He rose from the dead, your new self rose with Him instead. You are free from the eternal effects of sin. For now, while you are still alive here on earth, sin is something you will do, but God says it is no longer who you are. You have a new identity in Jesus--dead to sin and alive in Jesus!
