Making WaysSample

Day 1: God Can Make a Way in the Impossible
Have you ever felt stuck in a season you weren’t really in love with? Maybe you’re feeling lonely and haven’t found the right community. Maybe you’re in a toxic work environment. Maybe all your friends went off to college, but you stayed behind. Or maybe you’re praying for that baby, but it feels like your body isn’t cooperating…
Whatever it is, I think we’ve all been there, at our wits’ end, ready for change, looking for a way out, but feeling like all the doors are closed. That’s a tough place to be. I know.
I think about the Israelites who were in captivity in Egypt for 300 years. I wonder if, after all those years, they started to believe, “Things will always be this way,” or “This is just how life goes.” How easy it is to slip into complacency and lose faith…
But when you continue reading the story, God didn’t just make one way out. He made multiple ways out.
He made a way through a series of plagues for Pharaoh to let the Israelites go. He made a way by leading the Israelites down a path away from Philistine territory, where they could have faced battle. And finally, just as the Egyptians were right behind the Israelites and it seemed like there was no way… GOD made a way.
He opened a pathway through the sea, turning the seabed into dry land, with walls of water on each side…
I can’t even begin to imagine the series of emotions the Israelites must have felt when it seemed like there was no way out. I imagine they felt fear, anxiety, helplessness, and despair as it seemed impossible to escape. But when God split the sea, I imagine they also felt awe, wonder, relief, and a whole new level of faith.
How have you seen God show up for you? Maybe you see Him show up in the everyday moments, or maybe it was through a big miracle.
Whatever you’re walking through today, I pray you’re reminded that we serve a powerful God who loves us, sees us, and is intentional in His good plans for us. When it seems like there is no way, when it feels impossible, God is making ways for you.
Prayer
Dear Lord,
Thank you for making a way for me to come to you. I thank You for all the blessings in my life, because they come from You. I thank You that Your ways are higher and better than mine. Guide me and help me trust You, even when doors close or I’m in a season of waiting.
I give You any anxieties I’m holding onto. Help me trust You today. Help me see Your goodness, and help me know in my heart that You are making ways for me.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
