Ghosted

DAY 8 OF 28

Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!

S: Scripture

If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.

O: Observation

Read Habakkuk 3:17–19 again.

  • What challenges does Habakkuk name?
  • What choice does he make when life feels empty?
  • What questions do you still have?

A: Application

Is there a part of your life that feels like it's not working? If so, what is it?

What reminders of God's presence do you have in your life?

Who can help you stay focused on God when things feel difficult?

P: Prayer

Spend time praying about a way life feels out of your control. Ask God for help when you feel stuck or scared. Then, thank God for staying close, even if things are slow to change.

About this Plan

Ghosted

Being ghosted hurts, leaving us feeling unseen and alone. But Jesus promised God’s Spirit would never abandon us. Though unseen, the Spirit meets us in quiet moments, reminding us we’re not alone and helping us feel known. In this series, students will be reminded that when we feel forgotten, God’s Spirit comforts us; when we feel powerless, God’s Spirit gives us strength; when we feel lost, God’s Spirit guides us; and when we feel unimportant, God’s Spirit helps us make a difference.
