Kind and Benign: All through the Bible there are lists of qualities that describe how we're supposed to treat other people. One word that's regularly repeated is kindness. It shows up in practically every list. The biblical term refers to something that's useful and benign. It's about speaking encouraging words and doing gracious things for others. Kindness is way of relating to people that's not harmful, malignant or destructive. It doesn't inconsiderately cut or bruise hearts. It enhances instead of hurting.
