Return & RealignSample

DAY 1 The Invitation to Return
Scripture: Joel 2:12
Devotional:
Lent begins not with pressure, but with invitation. God’s call to “return to Me with all your heart” is not a demand shouted from a distance; it is a whisper from a God who draws near. He does not ask us to return because He is disappointed in us, but because He longs to restore us.
For creatives, turning back to God often means slowing down long enough to notice what has been neglected: the quiet places of the heart, the motivations behind our work, the rhythms that have become rushed or reactive. Returning is not about shame; it is about coming home.
God invites us to return with honesty. Not polished. Not curated. Not “fine.” He invites us to bring the parts of ourselves we’d rather hide: the exhaustion, the striving, the comparison, the fear of not being enough. He meets us there with compassion.
Lent is a journey of turning our attention back to the One who formed us, called us, and delights in us. It is a season of remembering that we are loved before we create anything, accomplish anything, or prove anything.
Reflection:
What part of my heart feels far from God, and what might returning look like today?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for inviting me to return. Draw me close with Your kindness and help me come home to You.
