Seek First 365: A One Year Bible Reading Plan for Daily DevotionSample

Reflection:
- What sign was placed over Jesus’ head at His crucifixion? Why is this significant?
- What types of insults did Jesus receive on the cross from those around Him?
- What significant events took place when Jesus died, as stated in verses 50-54?
Pray and Apply:
Reread verse 46. Jesus experienced being forsaken by God so that you would never have to. Through Jesus, you have been reconciled to God, given eternal hope, and now have the gift of the Holy Spirit. Do you feel as though God has distanced Himself from you or has abandoned you? May you be reminded that because of Jesus’ sacrifice, you are never alone. God has not abandoned you; He is near to you. Cry out to the Lord today, and be renewed in your heart and mind by the Holy Spirit.

About this Plan

Seek First 365 is a one-year Bible reading plan designed to help you build a daily rhythm of reading Scripture, meditating on God’s Word, praying, and journaling. Instead of rushing through several chapters each day, Seek First 365 invites you to slow down and focus on a single passage—or even part of a chapter. The goal isn’t speed, but transformation. Each day is crafted to help you linger in God’s Word, listen to the Spirit, and let His truth shape your heart, mind, and life.
