How to Shine: The Three Goals of a LightgliderSample

Welcome back to “How to Shine: The Three Goals of a Lightglider!” This is Day 2 of this Bible reading plan. Today we are discussing RESPECT. This is the first goal of a Lightglider. Every Lightglider learns that they are to show respect. But, how do we do that? Why is it important?
When we respect, we are acknowledging worth. You and everyone you meet is worthy of respect because we each were created by God and in His image. We show respect in the way we treat people and in the way we treat ourselves. Jesus treated people with respect and so should we. We should seek to care for others. We should also seek to care for ourselves – our minds, hearts, and bodies. Whether it’s your best friend or someone you don’t get along with very well, choosing to show respect is what Lightgliders strive to do!
Here are some things to do and think about today:
- Read Romans 12:10, Genesis 1:27, and Matthew 7:12.
- In what ways do you delight in honoring others?
- Why does everyone deserve respect?
- What are ways to show respect to others and to yourself?
- Who can you pray for who has caused you difficulty?
