Overflow

DAY 3 OF 10

Overflowing Grace

Grace is the very heartbeat of the gospel. It is God’s unearned, undeserved, overflowing kindness toward us. And the truth of grace is this: no matter how deep the failure, His grace goes deeper still.

Paul wrote in Romans 5:20 that where sin increased, grace was all the more abundant. That means grace never runs out. It never dries up. There is no pit so deep, no mistake so costly, no weakness so great, that God’s grace cannot remove it. Grace is not just “enough to forgive”—it’s enough to overflow.

Sometimes, we live as though God gives grace sparingly, like He’s measuring it out by the teaspoon—just enough to get us through. But that’s not the God of Scripture. He is not stingy. He is extravagant. His grace doesn’t trickle into our lives—it pours in, wave after wave, filling every crack and crevice of our brokenness.

Think about Paul’s own story. He carried what he called a “thorn in the flesh”—a weakness that he begged God to remove. Yet God responded that His grace was sufficient and God's power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV). Notice what happened: Paul shifted from asking for the weakness to be removed to boasting in his weakness—because he realized God’s overflowing grace was more powerful than his limitation, and that the Father’s grace overcomes all.

Maybe you’ve felt like your failures disqualified you. Maybe you think you’ve gone too far, or you’ve used up your chances. Friend, hear this: grace has no expiration date. Grace has no limit. Grace doesn’t just cover your past—it empowers your present and secures your future.

And here’s the beauty: when you live in the overflow of grace, it changes how you treat others. You no longer demand perfection from them, because you know you’ve received the same grace yourself. Grace received becomes grace released. You forgive more quickly. You extend kindness more freely. You stop keeping score because you realize Jesus already settled your account at the cross.

Living in overflowing grace means walking with freedom, not shame. It means knowing you are not defined by what you’ve done but by what Christ has done for you. It means carrying an atmosphere of forgiveness everywhere you go—because grace isn’t just a doctrine to believe, it’s a life to live.

Pause & Reflect:

  • Where have I been living like God’s grace is scarce, rather than abundant?
  • Do I extend grace to others as freely as I have received it?
  • How would my relationships change if I chose to live in the overflow of grace?

Prayer: Father, thank You for grace that is greater than my weakness, my failures, and my past. Let Your grace overflow in me, so that I can extend that same grace to others. May my life be a living testimony that Your grace never runs dry. In Jesus' name, amen.

About this Plan

Overflow

Overflow is more than mere abundance—it’s the divine moment when God pours so richly into our lives that it spills over into the lives of others. It’s not just a blessing to receive; it’s a powerful calling to share. This 10-day devotional will help you to recognize, receive, and release the Overflow God wants to pour out—not as a passive recipient of blessings, but as an active conduit of God's love, joy, peace, presence, and more.
