Back to the Basics 365Sample

Knowing who Jesus is helps us spot false teachers. John Gill pointed out that any teacher denying that Jesus is fully God is not a teacher from God. False religions always lower Christ. The simplest test for truth is this: what does a religion say about Jesus? Those who truly know Him won’t be deceived by counterfeits. Sound doctrine begins with a right view of who He is. Any religion that teaches that salvation comes from Christ and baptism, Christ and being morally good, church membership, good works, etc., does not have a correct view of Christ. Salvation must come from faith in Christ plus nothing else!
