Back to the Basics 365Sample

2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” As a born-again believer in Jesus, we are no longer “dead in trespasses and sins,” as Ephesians 2:1 claims. Instead, we are quickened, or “made alive,” in Christ.
The problem is we are still walking around with a body that still has a fleshly nature. Our flesh wants to continue in sin. Thankfully, by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, we are now able to “put off the old man”. Ephesians 4:22-24 22 says, That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” This can be an illustration of 2 animals that were in a fight. Whichever one was fed the most would always win. Feed the Spirit, starve your flesh, and you will have victory over sin!
Is there a sin in your life that you need to put away? Start taking steps today to feed the spirit rather than your flesh!
