Faith, Logic and PresumptionSample

Faith, Logic and Presumption

DAY 3 OF 4

Logic is that voice in your head that always wants everything to “make sense.” It means well, it just hates risk. But faith, on the other hand, lives comfortably in the land of the unknown. Logic says, “If it doesn’t add up, it can’t be God.” Faith says, “If God said it, He’ll make it add up.”

The problem begins when logic stops being a helper and starts being the boss. When fear grabs the microphone, logic becomes its spokesperson. It will start saying things like, “Don’t try that, you might fail,” or “Wait till everything is perfect,” or “What if it doesn’t work?” But the truth is, sometimes God tells you to move before the evidence appears.

Remember when Jesus told Peter to cast his net again after fishing all night? Logic immediately did the math, “We already tried, nothing worked, and it’s daytime.” But faith said, “Nevertheless, at Your word.” And boom, the same lake that looked empty overflowed with fish. Logic only saw the facts, but faith saw the God behind the facts. Abraham left his father’s house without Google Maps or relocation plans because faith heard a word while logic saw uncertainty. Gideon faced an army of thousands with only 300 men because faith said, “The fewer, the better for God’s glory.” Logic would’ve called that bad military strategy, but faith called it obedience.

Even today, logic often talks us out of what faith is trying to talk us into. God says, “Start that project,” but logic says, “You don’t have enough savings.” God says, “Forgive,” but logic says, “You’ll look weak.” God says, “Give,” but logic says, “You’ll go broke.” Faith doesn’t ignore logic; it just refuses to be imprisoned by it. Faith doesn’t say, “I don’t know how”; it says, “I know Who.” Every faith step looks foolish until it works. So don’t let logic, dressed as fear, make you miss what faith could have built.

Prayer and Confession
Lord, give me the courage to obey even when I can’t calculate the outcome. Strengthen my heart to follow Your word above my reasoning. I decree, that I walk by faith and not by fear. My mind is sound, but my spirit leads. When God speaks, I obey, even when logic disagrees. Amen!
