DAY 5 OF 6

Your Future – Stepping into Your God-Given Purpose

Do you ever wonder if your life really matters or if God has a special purpose for you? Maybe you sense He does, but fear, insecurity, or past mistakes hold you back. Be assured: God created you with purpose. His greatest will for your life is that you would know Him, love Him, and make Him known to others. He wants to reveal His glory through your life—not only through great acts, but also through daily transformation that reflects Jesus to the world. Your calling is not just about a career, what you do or a grand mission; it’s about becoming more like Christ and letting God use every part of your life to draw others to Him. The enemy wants to paralyze you with fear or shame. But God invites you to walk in faith, trusting that His purposes for you are good, and He will equip you every step of the way.

Identified Lies & Truths

Lie: “Spiritual growth isn’t essential—or it’s just too hard.”
Truth: 1 Thessalonians 4:3 & Hebrews 12:11: “It is God’s will that you should be sanctified… No discipline seems pleasant at the time… but later it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace.”

Becoming more like Jesus is essential to your calling. This lie implies that pursuing holiness and growth in Christ isn’t important to your future, but God says otherwise. Though sanctification is challenging, it leads to a harvest of peace and prepares you for everything He’s called you to.

Lie: “You’re on your own—God won’t help you become who you’re called to be.”
Truth: Philippians 2:13: “For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose.”

You are not alone. The Spirit of God is working inside you to give you the desire and the ability to grow. You are co-laboring with a God who is fully invested in your transformation and future. Your calling is not your burden to carry; it’s His work in and through you.

Lie: “Fully following God won’t make you happy.”
Truth: John 10:10: “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

This lie makes you fear that obeying God means missing out on “real life.” It tempts you to seek purpose in worldly things instead of God’s will. But the truth is: only in Christ can you experience full, abundant life. God’s plan doesn’t steal joy, it gives it.

Lie: “You don’t have a real purpose.”
Truth: Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you… plans to give you a hope and a future.”

God didn’t forget you. He has specific plans for your life; plans for hope and impact. You’ll find purpose as you seek Him. Your life is part of a greater story He is writing.

Lie: “You’re too weak or untalented for God’s purposes.”
Truth: Philippians 4:13: “I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.”

Your limitations are no obstacle for God. He strengthens those He calls. You don’t have to be the most talented, just surrendered.

Lie: “You’ve ruined God’s plan for your life.”
Truth: Romans 8:28: “In all things God works for the good of those who love Him…”

Even past mistakes are redeemable. God can use every chapter of your story, even the messy ones, to accomplish His purpose. Nothing is wasted.

Repentance

“Lord, I repent for believing I have no purpose or that I must figure it all out on my own. Forgive my fear and reluctance. I surrender my future to You. Grow me, lead me, and use me for Your glory.”

Self-Evaluation

  • What area of spiritual or personal growth have I been avoiding?
  • What fears stop me from following God’s calling? Which truths counter those fears?
  • Do I believe God still has good plans for me, even after failures?
  • How might I take one small step today toward the purpose God has for me?

Closing Encouragement

Your calling is not just about doing great things for God—it’s about becoming more like Jesus as you walk with Him. Your sanctification and your purpose are not separate lanes—they run side by side. The more He changes you, the more he gets the glory. And the more you step out in obedience, the more your heart is shaped in the process. If we neglect the work God wants to do in us, we will always hit roadblocks in what He wants to do through us. He blesses obedience—not perfection, but the surrendered steps of faith that say, “God, I want Your way.”

About this Plan

Lies & Truth Canvas

One of the enemy's greatest tactics is to constantly feed us lies about ourselves, others and our circumstances. Accepting these lies is sinful and calls for acknowledgement and repentance. The only way to defeat these thoughts is through the Truth of God's Word. We must not rely on our feelings or let them guide us, but stand firmly on the truth and the truth alone. The truth alone can set us free!
