The Fulfillment of the Law

Devotional:

Jesus said, "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them" — Matthew 5:17 NIV. Christ's coming was not an interruption of God's plan, but the climax. Every sacrifice, every prophecy, and every command of the Old Testament pointed forward to Him. He perfectly obeyed the Law on our behalf and then perfectly satisfied the Law’s requirement for justice through His death. His birth is the definitive answer to every longing and foreshadowing found in Scripture.
