Day 7: Abraham: The Root of Faith — Genesis 12:1–3

🌿 What would you do if someone asked you not only to visit a far-off land, but to leave your extended family forever, go to an unknown place, and never return home? This is exactly what God asked Abraham to do. No pre-trip, no questions answered, simply obey God’s call to “Go.” If Abraham obeyed, the rewards God promised him were immense!

Genesis 12:1–2 says:
The LORD had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.
I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you;
I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.”

Romans 4:3 tells us: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.”

Abraham was considered a patriarch of the Jewish faith, not because he was a perfect person, but rather because he trusted God and the promise God made to him. God’s promise was based on His great goodness, not Abraham’s. In the same way, God, in His infinite goodness, promises great blessings to those who believe and take Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
