Glory in the Fields
The shepherds were ordinary people doing ordinary work when heaven broke into their night. Angels filled the sky, declaring “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace.” (Luke 2:14 KJV) The message was simple but world-changing: the long-awaited Messiah had come.
God chose to reveal His glory not to kings, but to shepherds. This reminds us that joy is not reserved for the important - it’s available to anyone who will listen.
The presence of God transforms the most ordinary places into holy ground. Wherever you are today - at work, at home, in a quiet season or a busy one - God can meet you there. The same glory that filled the fields that night still fills hearts today. The good news brings great joy because it’s for all who will receive it.

This Christmas season, we pause to remember the angel’s announcement: “Good news that will bring great joy to all people.” Through every reading, we discover again the wonder of Jesus, our Saviour, Redeemer, and Hope. As you journey from the manger toward a new year, may His presence fill you with peace, purpose, and unshakable joy. Emmanuel, God is with us.
