Emotional health is about how we think, feel, and respond to life. It shapes our sense of wellbeing, our ability to handle challenges, and how we relate to our own emotions and those of others.
Emotionally healthy people can process their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours with clarity. They keep their eyes on Jesus, even in difficult seasons. They maintain perspective, recover from setbacks, and build strong relationships—with God and others.
As believers, we’re sometimes told to ignore our feelings and rely only on faith. But consider this: perhaps God gave us emotions for a reason. Without them, we wouldn’t experience compassion, empathy, or care. We’d be like colorless images—present, but lacking depth.
In John 11:33–35, we see Jesus deeply moved by grief at Lazarus’ death. “Jesus wept.” His emotions were real and meaningful.
So yes, it’s okay to acknowledge your emotions. But remember: emotions are part of life—they’re not meant to lead it. Only God should guide us.
Here are three areas to reflect on for emotional health:
1. Mind – What are you thinking about? Are your thoughts life-giving?
2. Emotions – What are you feeling? Are you naming those feelings honestly?
3. Will – How are you responding? Are your reactions aligned with God’s truth?
Listen to your emotions—but submit them to God. He cares deeply about your heart and wants you to thrive emotionally, spiritually, and in every part of life.

About this Plan

Do you ever feel like life’s out of balance—juggling family, work, and faith until you’re exhausted? Paul reminds us in 1 Thessalonians 5:23 that God wants us whole in spirit, soul, and body. Instead of juggling, think like a plate spinner—giving each area just enough care to keep it moving. With God’s help, we can stay steady by tending to five key areas: physical, emotional, spiritual, relational, and financial. True balance isn’t about doing everything at once. It’s about being intentional and letting God bring peace and order to every part of your life.
