7 Keys for Spiritual WarfareSample

Now that we’ve looked at 7 keys for spiritual warfare, it’s time for action! It’s great to be handed a sword, but we have to know how to wield it. Kingdom warriors must train with the sword of the Spirit (the Word) in order to learn the language of spiritual warfare.
There is a big contrast between our language when speaking to people and the language of spiritual warfare. Our language towards individuals should be redemptive, building up others according to the Word. In contrast, the language of spiritual warfare involves binding, rebuking, and pulling down the strongholds of the enemy according to scripture. One builds up, the other tears down.
Below are some Word-based statements that you can personalise and use in your time of spiritual warfare:
- We resist the devil and his schemes in Jesus’ name, and we stand firm in our faith. (1 Peter 5:8-9)
- We bind the devourer and pull down the strongholds of the enemy in Jesus’ name. (Matthew 18:18, Matthew 12:28-29)
- We declare that no weapon forged against us will prosper, and we refute every ungodly accusation in the name of Jesus. (Isaiah 54:17)
- We cast down every thought and imagination that exalts itself against the knowledge of Christ. (2 Cor 10:5)
- In Jesus’ name we rebuke the thief who is trying to steal, kill and destroy. (John 10:10)
- We declare God’s divine power in this situation to demolish every demonic stronghold. (2 Cor 10:4)
- We rebuke the god of this age and the spirit of deception which has blinded the eyes of unbelievers. We declare salvation over our family and friends, and pray that they would see the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 4:4)
- We submit ourselves to the Lordship of Christ and declare that He is King over our lives. We claim the name and authority of Jesus Christ over our family, over this situation, and over the Church. (James 4:7, Phil 2:9-11)
- We stand against the principalities and powers of darkness in the name of Jesus. We tear down every demonic influence seeking to infiltrate our families, our churches, and our nation. (Ephesians 6:12)
- We rebuke the spirit of the antichrist, and we declare that greater is He that is in me, than He that is in the world. (1 John 4:3-4)
- Holy Spirit, we ask for your strategies against the enemy’s plans. We declare chaos to the enemy’s camp and confusion to every demonic strategy in Jesus’ name. (Judges 7:19-23)
