One Minute WitnessSample

Tell your story with fresh compassion and confidence!
Now that you’ve learned and executed the first two fingers of permission and before Christ, it’s time to introduce them to your best friend and Savior, Jesus Christ. They are now eagerly waiting to hear your solution to life’s problems!
Finger 3: "Turning Point"
Let’s write out your story, and let’s tell it like parents tell bedtime stories. This finger will take you about twenty-five seconds to explain, since it has two parts. Here are both parts:
“And then one day . . .”
Finish this sentence by telling how you first heard of the good news of Jesus. Who told you about salvation? How did you hear about Jesus? The more personal, the better it is. Here are some examples:
“And then one day, my parents brought me to a Christian church. I heard about a God who loved me and wanted me to live in heaven someday. But I found I wasn’t eligible, because heaven is perfect, and of course I’m far from it.”
“And then one day, my brother came to my house and told me he had accepted Jesus as his Savior. I told him I went to church, but he told me just going to church didn’t change his heart. God offered relationship, and not just a dead religious exercise.”
“And then one day, my friend _____ invited me to a Christian concert. I was surprised to see such peace and joy in everyone’s lives. They joyfully worshipped Jesus, and I was curious.”
“When I realized Jesus died for my sins and rose again, I invited him to ______”
Finish this sentence by stating what you asked Jesus to do in your heart. Here are some examples:
“When I realized Jesus died for my sins and rose again, I invited him to forgive me and be the leader of my life.”
“When I realized Jesus died for my sins and rose again, I invited him to be my Savior and Lord.”
“When I realized Jesus died for my sins and rose again, I invited him to free me from my addiction and give me a new beginning.”
Today, we want you to write down your story and make it personal. Write down the turning point in your life and practice each finger a few times until you are comfortable. Then return for the next day and finger of the One Minute Witness.
