Joy RulesSample

Paul experienced many intense difficulties in preaching the good news of Jesus. His perspective in the book of Philippians is truly remarkable. He does not slap a happy spin on his pain; rather, Paul’s concept of joy has depth.
What is one struggle or challenge that you are facing right now?
- Take a moment to pause and hold it before God.
- Ask him to use it for his purposes.
- Ask God to grow your confidence and give you courage to speak about him without fear.
Practice: Who is someone that you see living with joy, even in the middle of struggle? Send them a note to say that you are encouraged by their example and that you are praying for them.

About this Plan

Though he was captive in prison, Paul was captivated by Jesus. That makes him the perfect mentor for any of us who yearn to live with joy and contentment in spite of our troubles. During the Joy Rules reading plan, we'll trek through Paul's writings in the book of Philippians in search of the always-present, ever-accessible joy Jesus offers.
