Faith in the Ordinary - a 5 Day Journey Through the Book of Colossians Sample

Life can feel repetitive: driving, making coffee, answering WhatsApps, folding laundry. But Colossians reminds us that Jesus holds all things together, including these small, unseen moments. Faith isn’t just about Sundays; it’s about Monday mornings. When you invite Jesus into the ordinary, the ordinary becomes holy.
I used to think that my faith was shaped primarily by the high moments of spiritual encounters. Don’t get me wrong, those moments are important. But I’ve come to realise that it’s in the everyday, ordinary rhythms of life where God shapes me most often. It’s when I wake up to get ready for the day and I can’t seem to find where I last left my shoes, or when I allow someone to pass ahead of me in traffic, that I become aware of inviting God into even those simple moments. This has led to me having some of the most amazing conversations with the most unlikely people, discovering more about who they are, and holding space for them to encounter Jesus.
Reflection:
Where, in your daily routine, could you begin to intentionally invite Jesus this week?
Prayer:
“Jesus, thank you for holding all things together. Help me see You in the ordinary moments of my life.”

About this Plan

Life is often lived in the ordinary; in school, at work, in our homes, in conversations with friends. Yet God meets us there. The book of Colossians reminds us that Christ is supreme, and that His presence transforms even the most mundane moments into opportunities for faith, hope, and love. This plan will help you see the extraordinary in the ordinary and inspire you to live your faith out loud where God has placed you.
