Bring Them With You

DAY 3 OF 7

Favor in Righteousness

The Bible makes it clear that none of us has attained perfection or has it all together. We can strive to be righteous, however, and that is the will of God for every one of us and it brings favor to us individually and to our households. It is in the striving for righteousness that we find favor and blessing from God (1 Peter 3:12).

God tells us that we cannot be moved when we walk uprightly (righteously) (Psalm 112:6).

What might some of the goals be that we can achieve to obtain righteousness?

The Bible tells us to "pursue righteousness" (2 Tim. 2:22). To pursue it, we must first make certain that our hearts and minds are "clean" before God. This develops a righteousness within us. To be clean is to be made new, to be washed/spotless/holy in the sight of God. Some genuine prayers can be prayed to help with this, such as praying the Scripture of Psalm 51:10, "Create in me a CLEAN HEART, O God, and renew a right spirit within me!"

Hebrews is full of goodies that help us obtain righteousness (chapter 10:22-25).

We need to be found guiltless when we come before the throne of God. This means that we must continually be aware of our shortcomings and daily ask God to show us any willful, hidden, or unknown sins that may be standing in the way of a right relationship with Him. Sin in your life can hinder your impact on family members, friends, neighbors, or coworkers. That is why it's so essential to stay prayerful and repentant before the Lord. The Bible tells us that if we willingly hold on to sin, the Lord will not hear us when we pray (Psalm 66:18). This is a significant point.

Set YOUR MIND (and actions/reactions) on the things above... not on the things of this earth, and you will be better equipped to make that impact you desire to see (Col. 3:2).

Ask God to search and try you, helping you to see and repent when you are wrong, and to help you turn from whatever is standing in the way of the proper relationship that will draw your loved one to Him (Psalm 139).

Understand that we are merely touching on some ways to reach righteousness. God tells us that we "have not because we ask not" (James 4:2). So, ask Him for it!

About this Plan

Bring Them With You

We are getting closer and closer to the end, according to the Book of Revelation. It has never been more imperative to share your faith and emulate Jesus than it is at this moment. This plan will help you develop a plan of action to make an impact for the Kingdom with your family, friends, and neighbors as we approach the time of Jesus' reappearance. You can't take anything with you when it's your time to go... except those whom you have led to The Lord!
