Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

DAY 21 OF 365

Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill (Matthew 5:17 NKJV).

Do you regularly worship Jesus, who alone fulfills the Law?

Let's think about Jesus fulfilling the law. The Book of Genesis imparts three spectacular prophecies about Jesus. In Genesis 3:15 there is a prediction about a virgin birth, and we learn from the New Testament (Matthew 1:18–25; Galatians 4:4) that Jesus is the one who fulfills that prediction. In Genesis 12:3, a promise was given to Abraham that from him all the families of the earth would be blessed. This happens through Jesus Christ, as we learn from Galatians 3:8. In Genesis 49:10, we learn about a scepter that shall not depart from Judah. Where does Jesus derive? From the tribe of Judah (Revelation 5:5). Jesus is the one who fulfills the law, and when we place our faith in Him, we, if you will, fulfill the law through Him.

Employment Point: Worship and adore Jesus, who alone fulfills the Law.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
