Rest in the Storm

DAY 4 OF 7

Sacred Boundaries

When the curtain pulled back in my story, “perfect” dissolved. Lies, omissions, and patterns came to light. I learned something I wish I’d known sooner: love and deception cannot coexist.

Boundaries aren’t punishment; they’re wisdom. They protect your peace, dignity, and calling. Without them, you’ll be drained, degraded, and endlessly apologizing for having needs.

Drawing lines was one of the hardest, holiest choices I ever made. Not to hurt anyone—but to stop being hurt. Jesus set boundaries with crowds, critics, and even family members. You’re allowed to do the same.

Healthy boundaries sound like, “No,” “Not today,” “That’s not okay with me,” and “Here’s what I can offer.” They define where you end and another person begins. Guilt will try to bully you back across the line; grace will help you hold it with kindness and clarity.

Will everyone applaud? Probably not. But peace grows in the soil of good boundaries. So does honest love.

Guard your heart. Pursue peace as far as it depends on you. And let God handle what is beyond you.

Name one boundary you need this week (time, access, topic, tone). Write the exact sentence you’ll use to communicate it with both clarity and kindness, and then after you do that, put it somewhere you can see or set a reminder in your phone, that way you will be reminded, and it will help you follow through with a change you are needing. Remember, boundaries are crucial in order to live a peaceful life.

About this Plan

Rest in the Storm

Rest In The Storm helps you trade panic for peace. Through short daily readings, Scripture, and one simple action step, you’ll learn to name your storm, reject false labels, move from fear to love, set sacred boundaries, break generational patterns, and lay down what was never yours to carry. If you’re ready to disrupt toxicity with truth and let Jesus speak “Peace, be still” over your heart and home, this plan will guide you—gently, clearly, and practically.
