The Battle of Busyness – Making Time for What Matters MostSample

Day 2 – The Tyranny of the Urgent
Devotional Thought:
Martha wasn’t sinning by serving—but she was distracted. Her busyness kept her from the better portion: sitting at Jesus’ feet. Like Martha, we can fill our lives with good things yet miss the most important thing. The urgent often shouts louder than the eternal, but the eternal is what gives life meaning.
Busyness will always whisper, “Do more.” Jesus whispers, “Be with Me.”
Prayer:
Lord, quiet the noise of urgency in my heart. Help me choose the better portion—time in Your presence above everything else. Amen.
Reflection/Action Step:
What “urgent” tasks keep pulling you away from God? Identify one and deliberately choose to pause and give that time to Him instead today.
