Isaiah 48 - Peace (I Am the Lord)
It's probably one of the hardest things to find: real peace.
Before I knew God, I was constantly looking for peace. Peace of mind, peace of heart, peace of spirit. And I was looking in all the wrong places: the company of women, having casual relations, sleeping pills, numbing my spirit with alcohol, porn...You name it. And some of the stuff seemed to work. But only for a short while. And then I went looking for some more 'peace'. It's a never-ending cycle, and if anything, it got me more jaded, wanting and needing more.
The night I surrendered my life to God, I was completely drained, hollow, beat, stuck, broken. I cried out to Him: This is no life! I can't do this anymore. You can have it all!
And He answered me... drumroll please... with Peace.
Real, genuine, everlasting Peace. A Peace I had never ever experienced before in my whole life that transcended every notion I had of peace. I had to surrender to receive that Peace. To enter that Peace.
And that very same Peace is what He wants to give you, wants you to have. Like waves, rolling over you. I am the Lord. I Am.
Much like Psalm 46:10, "Be still (surrender) and know that I am God". (NLT)
Isaiah 48 - Peace (I Am the Lord)
18. Peace flowing like a gentle river
and righteousness rolling over you like waves in the sea.
17. I am the Lord your God,
12. I alone am God,
 the First and the Last.
Words from: New Living Translation (NLT).
