College & Christ: A 30-Day Devotional for College GirlsSample

Hope for Tomorrow
Paul closes this section of Romans with a blessing. He reminds believers that God Himself is the source of hope. Notice the chain: as we trust God, He fills us with joy and peace, and that leads to hope that overflows—not because of circumstances, but because of the Spirit’s power.
Hope in Scripture is not wishful thinking; it’s confident expectation rooted in God’s character.
The future can feel overwhelming in college—careers, relationships, debt, and uncertainty. But Paul reminds us that our hope doesn’t come from having every detail figured out. It comes from trusting God. Hope is not ignoring reality—it’s choosing to see reality through God’s promises.
Practical ways you can overflow with hope include replacing worry with prayer each time thoughts about the future begin to weigh you down, speaking hope over your life by writing down God’s promises and declaring them out loud, and surrounding yourself with hopeful voices instead of only listening to fearful or negative ones.
Think about this...What worries about the future weigh you down most? How can trusting God bring peace in that area?

About this Plan

As a mom, youth leader, and someone who has worked with teen girls for over 14 years, I know this season can feel both exciting and overwhelming. My prayer is that in these 30 days, you’ll be reminded that God is with you in every lecture hall, dorm room, late-night study session, and moment of doubt. You are loved, chosen, and equipped to shine.
