The Spirit Promised to the ChurchSample

The Holy Spirit Is God!
Today, we can all say that the Holy Spirit is God, but it wasn’t always this way. This was decreed at a council held in Nicaea in the year 325 and reaffirmed in Constantinople in the year 381, known as the Council of Nicaea. At that council, it was unanimously declared: “I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified.” It became clear to believers in the 4th century that the Holy Spirit is God and receives the same worship and glory as the Father and the Son.
Now let’s look at what the Methodist statement of faith says: “The Holy Spirit, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, is of the same substance, majesty, and glory with the Father and the Son, true and eternal God.” Meanwhile, the Baptists say: “The Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son; all three are infinite, without beginning, and therefore are one God.” The creed of Protestants in the Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland says: “We believe in the deity and personality of the Holy Spirit.” As for the Orthodox Church, despite the schism and internal division, the Nicene Creed is still upheld.
It is unanimous throughout the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ: it is clear—the Holy Spirit is God!

About this Plan

Today we can say that the Church of Jesus Christ is of one mind regarding the Holy Spirit; we all know that He is God. Throughout this Bible study plan, we will learn a little more about the person of the Holy Spirit, His attributes, and His mission while answering three questions: If the Holy Spirit is God, why don't you worship Him as God? If the Holy Spirit is a person, why don't you speak to Him? If the Holy Spirit is the leader of the church, where have you placed Him?
