Without MeasureSample

In Isaiah 55, we are presented with a wildly generous invitation. There’s a feast of bread, wine, and milk – the richest of fare – and it’s for anyone who wants it. No money? Welcome in. Thirsty? You’re at the right place. There’s no cost. Come, and be satisfied.
God’s ways are plentiful. They are vastly different from the world’s ways. No one is excluded. There’s a space for you if you want it. No earning. No trades. No payment. This is a reckless generosity.
And let all this feasting direct your attention to the better thing that is on offer. What could be more enticing than a lavish feast at no cost?
Life. True life. The life that God offers in Himself.
God knows it’s only in Him that our souls will be truly satisfied. The promise of His love is what’s on the menu. His everlasting covenant is the main dish. Yet, we spend money on material goods that don’t bring any lasting satisfaction when what will fill us completely is free for the taking!
The picture painted feels familiar. A foreshadowing of fulfilment.
“I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst,” Jesus declares.
Feast on Jesus - the One you were made by, through, and for. The One who left the Father for the joy set before Him in order to make a way – in order to be the way. Your thirst for belonging, wholeness, freedom, love – it’s all quenched in Him.
Walk with Him. Talk with Him. Remember Him. Ingest His written words. Dine with Him.
What are you waiting for? Come to the table. There’s a place with your name on it.

About this Plan

All throughout Scripture, we see evidence of God’s abundance and lavishly generous ways. God's generosity is without measure, and we see it again and again and again. In this 5-day reading plan, we will explore both Old and New Testament passages as we seek to encounter and be shaped by this God of plenty.
