Word IMPACT!

DAY 4 OF 15

Day 4

WHEN GOD SPEAKS…

God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son... (Heb 1:1-2)

God speaks. In various times and in various ways. His final and full revelation is in His Son, Jesus Christ.

There is clarity when God speaks. When God spoke to Moses, Moses knew exactly what God wanted him to do. Sometimes His whisper will be only a few words. He said to the disciples, “Follow Me!” The disciples knew in their spirit-man the full impact of those words.

When we hear Him prompting in our spirit, “Fast”, we know for how long and in what way. When we hear, “Forgive”, we will know exactly whom we need to forgive. God dwells in our spirit by His Holy Spirit. A spirit that is yielded to Him, surrendered to Him, has considered the price to follow Him, and has chosen in advance to be obedient to Him, hears His voice very clearly. Mary was ready to go when the angel Gabriel broke the news to her. John the Baptist, who was filled with the Holy Spirit in his mother’s womb, leaped for joy when Mary greeted John’s mom, Elizabeth. As a result, Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. (Luke 1:41)

There is no confusion when He speaks. David knew what God wanted Him to do, when he inquired from the Lord. 2 Therefore, David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I go and attack these Philistines?” And the Lord said to David, “Go and attack the Philistines, and save Keilah.” 3 But David’s men said to him, “Look, we are afraid here in Judah. How much more then if we go to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?” 4 Then David inquired of the Lord once again. And the Lord answered him and said, “Arise, go down to Keilah. For I will deliver the Philistines into your hand.” (1 Sam 23:2-5) We may be confused at times, but God is never confused.

There is authority when He speaks. 7 And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.” 8 The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” 10 When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel! (Mat 8:7-10) Recognizing and honoring His authority increases what His word can accomplish in our lives.

The word of His voice will grow stronger with every act of obedience. The more we act in obedience, the more we will recognize it is He when He speaks. What was the last thing that He spoke to you? What have you done with that word?

Father, I submit to You! I choose to give my yes like Mary did. I choose to honor You and obey You!

About this Plan

Word IMPACT!

In the beginning, His word impact resulted in light. The whole creation came about by His word. A widow and her son were saved from death when she put her faith in the word Elijah spoke. She discovered that the little she had was always enough when she put God first. It changed her life completely. When we allow His word to do a deep work within us, we will be fully mature and perfectly prepared to fulfill any assignment God gives us. May “Word Impact!” shape you to think and act like Jesus as you follow Him every day!
