The Generosity of GodSample

The Generosity of God

DAY 17 OF 30

New Every Morning

It is said that all good things come to an end. Every party winds down. Every feast wraps up. Every holiday finishes. But here God reveals that his mercies never come to an end.

From generation to generation, God never runs out of mercy. He’s inexhaustible and infinite. His mercies never come to an end.

The river of God’s goodness keeps flowing. His fire for those in distress keeps burning. His help to those in misery keeps coming. His mercies never come to an end.

No matter how many times you’ve needed it, there’s more. No matter how much you don’t deserve it, there’s still more. No matter what you’ve already received, he’s still giving. His mercies never come to an end.

If yesterday was terrible. If last night was unbearable. If it all feels incomparable. His mercies never come to an end.

God is more willing to give than we are to receive. He lavishly pours out his limitless mercies. They are new every morning.

New, like it’s the first time. New, like there’s no prior balance. New, like the refresh button. They are new every morning.

God offers us more mercy than we can measure. Mercy free and abundant. Mercy full and overflowing. Mercy above and beyond reason. They are new every morning.

When you go to bed with a problem, mercy meets you with a fresh start. When you don’t know the answer, mercy will come for you in the new day. When your strength fades at dusk, it will rise at dawn. God has spoken it: They are new every morning.

Not just some mornings, every morning. Not only when you’ve been faithful and strong, but especially when you are needy and weak. They are new every morning.

Count on it. Live by it. Bank on it. Jesus died for it, paid for it, rose for it.

Praise the God who is merciful and expect mercy again today. Every morning is still in effect.
